[glitch] How to make a gyroscope

Archive: 6 posts

I'm really not sure if this is old news but I promised to tell everyone how I made my N.I.F.O. (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=37807-N.I.F.O.-flying-test) stay stable at all times.

It's ridiculously easy to do actually. All you need is the object you want to keep stable, a box of static dissolve and a rod.
All you have to do is to attach the rod between the box of dissolve and the thing you want to keep stable.
After you have done that, just attach a wire to the dissolve which releases the object, but for some reason it doesn't tilt in any direction anymore, working as a gyroscope.
Also, for some reason this doesn't work in create mode, but if you save the level and go into play mode then it should work properly.

I am sorry if this is old news, I just want to share the fun

Aha! I knew there was some way to do this, I played some level awhile ago that was like a unicycle or monocycle or something that must have used this technique.

I tried to figure it out, I thought it had something to do with how creature legs always stabilize when tilted to the side, but this makes far more sense. IDK if its new but its definitely new to me, thanks man .

Hey I tried this and it doesn't work for me, and I did follow all the steps and I went to play mode to test this out.2010-10-15 23:20:00

That's weird... it has worked for me every time...

Although, I haven't really tried it too many times
Maybe I should experiment a little with this.

monocab was a seat on a wheel. sorry i dont do it justice.
but it used a thin peice of glass on a weak directional piston.
basicly a peice of glass on the floor kept it stable.
