| Well I've already completed the iphone version and it's the best thing since Sonic 3 & knuckles. That doesn't mean there aren't problems. The physics (at least on iphone) aren't quite right, the story is non existant, and the zones are old one rehashed. Saying that though, it is very fun and I can't wait to see where they go from here. Anyone who says the lock on feature ruins it is quite honestly a bit of a fool. Every new sonic game on the megadrive introduced new gameplay features (2 - spin dash, 3 - powerups, S&K - Knuckles!) so this is just part of that evolution. As long as they don't go adding in any of those AWFUL characters from recent games in the next episode I'll be happy. But I am a self confessed raging sonic fanboy from the Master System/Megadrive days. I still play them every year easily.The only game I enjoyed properly since them is Sonic Heroes... playing as Team Sonic was fun. Got the speed right, and the awesomeness of Robotniks bases. | This game is nothing close to "proper 2d sonic". The jumping physics are way different, and the graphics, music and everything... just aren't right. But as far as I know, it's awesome. | Yeah, but if people want that nostalgia trip, they should go and play the old games lol. More of the same would be pointless. Just completed it Have 6/7 chaos emeralds, super sonic here I come I'm loving it, and the levels have tons of replay value like the old. Loooots of paths. | God I love this. I love the old games and this definitely has the right to be Sonic the Hedgehog 4. Everything's brilliant, especially the homing attack (which I think is a great addition - it make everything that bit better ). | Played it. Finished it. This is awful. The physics are poor, it kind of feels like you're always on ice, or there isn't enough gravity. All too often I found myself a little bit... Stuck at the top of a quarter pipe. Unable to go further up, but not moving slow enough to fall back down. The camera is waaay too close to Sonic, you can't see a thing ahead. It doesn't help when Sonic games are usually trial and error to get a good score in the first place. Only thing I like, is that level 4 'Mad Gear' is based off Metropolis Zone. | No matter what Sega does there will always be complaints from somebody. Even if they give the people what they want...which is side-scrolling. Sheesh. I for one think it is a solid Sonic game albeit a bit slowed down. Plus there are more episodes coming so I'm excited about that. Sonic 4 brought back the nolstalgia in me so I actually enjoyed it. I look forward to the Wii/DS games, Sonic Colors.
