Like/Dislike Level Faces?

Archive: 21 posts

I keep noticing in these videos different like/dislike Sackboy faces after completing a level. Does the level creator get to take a snapshot of Sackboy's face to determine what the expressions are?2010-10-12 01:02:00

It's should be player sackboy face, but currently is very buggy, stickers change postion, colors or not working at all and it's not applying head decorations (But eyes and teeth works good). Player face like/dislike is also visible on event list, reviews and when you play with other you see there rates with there faces2010-10-12 01:17:00

Plus it's really hard to differentiate between like and dislike if you are ninja....2010-10-12 01:29:00

Wouldn't they have a blue glowing background or red glowing background then? That would make it easier.2010-10-12 02:31:00

Well wouldn't you just know the happy face is on the left all the time?

And on a side note, is there a counter of some sort showing how many likes/dislikes a level has received?

I wouldn't mind for the basic brown sackboy. It can get really confusing if people have a huge flower on his sackboy/girl's face.2010-10-12 03:08:00

Yea, not only that you know who like, dislike or heart your level thanks to event list, it also shows score of players, with how many player he played, now many times he played your level and his review and pictures if he uploaded any. All of those are visible in LBP.me... yes everything what i said.

No, it's cool, specially in reviews it's simply need to solve few things and will be ok

Yeah, it's a nice feature.
Will be great when the sticker/costume bugs get fixed!
It's always fun checking out other players' costumes.

I kind of wish there was a :| face though.
I tend to lean towards if i'm 50/50 on the two. There is an option to not rate at all, but still..

Also think it would be nice if your desision could be anonymous.

That would assume you knew that to begin with - if the first time you are presented with the screen and you have a ninja mask on, it's really, really unlcear

The purpose of a :| face would be to not affect the score, right?

Well, is there an ability to NOT score the level at all? Would have the same effect, right?

I've noticed that a lot (ok so only youtube so far ) of websites are switching to this Like/dislike scoring system. Facebook is going to take over the world!!!! *scared face*
Maybe they should just have the word "Like" under the happy face with that squiggly font, same with "dislike". I don't know just a thought.

Dislike/like it's also much simpler to process then star system and less complicated for people, they even caring much more about it. Imo they could make stars for reviews, at least for creator information2010-10-12 23:11:00

Personally I like this "like/dislike" system for rating.
First off, the fact it's not force on the player basically resolve many rating problems we had in LBP. Also, with 5 stars it was getting unclear if people in general did like your level or not. The ratings were all over the place. Now it's simple: Most people like your level - or not.
Lastly, since it does not default on whatever the current rating of the level is, there's less bullcrap votes.

Yea, it's working
On LBP1 i always 5 star and set tag "Beautiful" or "Pretty" whatever crap i played ^^ on LBP2 i "Like" everything that look not like crap, when i play crap i don't rate at all (since got too warm heart to hurt people with dislike), but atleast it's better then it was before

Only con of this system is fact there will be always some people who will dislike something just because it don't have any or small amount, but statistically it's not big deal.

the different faces have different sound effects, eg when you select the happy face it cheers and when you select the unhappy face it boos so you just have to listen, you ninjas can listen right?2010-10-13 13:17:00
