Unknown Space Prologue - First Contactsteve_big_guns
Voyage deep into unknown space to investigate the origins of a trasmission from an unidentified vessel.
No pics included as a lot of effects are done through fog lights and ingame pics dont capture them.

This is a concept level for a possible lbp2 series. The levels entirely made out of decorations and as such is only about 2-3 minutes playing time due to the thermometer, but I tried to get as much visually interesting things in it, including the first in/out movers ive seen in lbp1.

I hope you enjoy it .

Sounds very interesting. Especially the made of decorations part. Will be back soon.

Edit: Wow. You know I really wanted to challenge you in who could use decorations in ways no one ever thought of. I think im going to give up on that because of that level. Thats incredible how precise you have every deco placed. How long did this take to make? I know you had to have that 'bug' where if u glue something that has a deco on it, it would disappear. Anyway very good concept. 5 stars and a heart. I hope you continue this as I really am looking forward to this.

Thank a lot .

That glitch is annoying .I attached some things with rods so they wouldnt vanish. The level took about 3 days to create.

I don't know what you plan on working on next but I hope you stick with this, it seems like it could go anywhere right now & I'm in the mood for an epic space odyssey, especially if the rest of it looks as good.2010-10-11 03:00:00

Theres a lot of possibilities from the level I made. I havent planned anything out yet, but its easy to come up with interesting ideas for this type of level.

I noticed importing the level into the lbp2 beta showed less decorations thermo being taken up, although 3d lights didnt work at all. Hopefully that will be fixed.

Another stunning level from Steve...

The visuals were so mind-boggling amazing and overwhelming at the same time! If it can play this well in LBP1, despite its length, I can't wait to see how wonderful it will look in LBP2.

I hope to see a full level series with this style in the near future.

I am speechless after I played this level . It was amazingly done with oversized decorations and some great platforming. Can't wait to see more in LBP2. 5 :star:s and a <32010-10-12 00:32:00

Will definitely check this out as the first level I ever provide feedback for on LBPC! I've checked out your other levels and if they're anything to go by, this will be fantastic. 2010-10-12 03:28:00

The level took about 3 days to create.

What!? This would take me three months to make!

On to the level, it was insanely decorated, no pun intended.

You're the king of innovative decoration use/awesome custom sticker use/awesome visuals, the use of that Spiderman-eye decoration for a computer was ingenious! And the mover was crazy, I honestly don't know how you did that. Also, the metal plate decoration floating around in space was a fantastic idea, and the font used at the beginning was perfect! Wow, I should stop commenting you now shouldn't I!? Amazing job, :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3!

Im not going to give up . Im just going to have to think outside the box more. Dang, 3 days? Thats crazy fast but if you have an idea how things should look then I guess any1 could do the same. Its still a crazy clock out time

Pretty cool.
Shame half the fun (deconstructing) is cut due to thin gas.

So if this is max thermo (standard non cheating way I assume), how much more gets freed up after import to beta?

EDIT: Ha. Why must people continue to exploit glitches when half the challenge and fun of creating a level is to do so within the thermo limtations. It has already been proven you can make an amazing level within the standard thermo. /rant

I played this level earlier. Found via Cool Pages, not here.
Another spectacular level. Granted, it's just a trailer or whatever, but it's awesome.

One of the things that caught my attention, was your top-down space craft (At least I think it was. Spaceships are always hard to tell what way up they go. x3 )
I has initially kind of worried top-down vehicles would always look very... Blocky. Yours certainly didn't. Sweet work.

Some real feedback now. All of these are out of five.

Visuals: :star::star::star::star::star:

Phenomenal. It was creative, stunning, and all over mind blowing. Easily 5 stars.

Gameplay: :star::star::star:

I realize there really wasn't much you could do here, as it was more of a showcase than an actual level, so the lack of gameplay is understandable.

Creativity::star::star::star::star::star:

I still can't for the life of me figure out how you made the objects move forward. The only thing I could think of was rapidly emitting the decoration, with it getting slightly bigger each time. Great job here, very creative, stunning use of decorations.

As as level, this level would be a :star::star::star::star: level because of the length and gameplay, but I consider this more of a showcase of what can be done. As as showcase, it was a :star::star::star::star::star: level, really changed what can be done in LBP 1, phenomenal job. I tip my hat to you.

Wow, it's spectacular

First level whose set is made out of decorations. I hope we'll get to see more in LBP2.

That why I wanted to creat it. Theres no visible materials used in building the level. It was a lot of fun and something new and interesting to try2010-10-19 13:49:00
