The hidden Forestse-mi92
Well, this level isnt new but i would like to present it to you ^^.
It is a platformer level and I worked very hard on the environment. The level is not very long because the thermometer filled up really fast. But the reviews have been very good (until now ^^).

Hey there,
I played through your level earlier and I thought it was very good. At first I was a little confused since you have to go through the caves to get to the hidden forest. (Title makes sense to me now)
The little blue bird thing following me through the caves was a very clever idea.
The platforming through the caves was all pretty basic, but fun and having it be so dark at certain points added a sense of danger to it. I almost killed myself a few times going too far ahead of the light bird.
I liked the upwards fireballs towards the end of the cave.
Once I got into the forest I was pretty blown away by the look of everything.
I liked that all of the flowers and plants were glowing, that seemed to fit the concept pretty well.
The forest area platforming was really cool.
It was a fun and enjoyable play, but I thought the cave section was much longer than the forest section, or at least it seemed that way. If you decide to make a sequel or update it, my opinion would be do more with the glowing forest.:star::star::star::star::star:<3

Thx for all these reviews

The cave section is so long, because at the beginning the whole level should have become a cave level. Than i played some avatar levels and thought that it would fit good in my level ^^. And i wanted to make it longer but the thermo was merciless . I already thought about a sequel but first I need more ideas

beautiful, the idea of the light that guides you in the dark is great, too bad that the light is blocked as a result remained inside the cave. never mind, I restarted the level. this atmosphere fantasy I loved it, even the spring flowers are beautiful. the only thing I regret is the fact that unfortunately the level is over because the thermometer is too full, please do a sequel. I gave :star::star::star::star: and <32010-10-14 00:59:00

So, right out the gate, I got stuck on something while dropping down...not a major issue, I just hopped forward and was good...I love the blue glowing bug thing that follows you around, light tricks are always fun, though I could see some players complaining that it moves too slowly...
I like the way most of the platforming obstacles are JUST in visual range, it gives a sense of tension, because you're not entirely sure where you're landing half the time, until you're right over it..fire shooting up out of the "lava?" creates a good effect, reminding me of old 2d nes and snes platformers (never a bad thing in my book) the brightly glowing plants looked awesome, even better once the lights brightened, especially the yellow one with the grab switch I loved the tree at the end as well.
I really have no complaints with this level, even the length is acceptable, in spite of it being short...5 stars and a heart from this guy!
If you find time to do a F4F, my level is The Temple of Bubbles: Part II...no obligation, though!

Great concept! I love the flying light--really made the level stand out from typical platformers. The scenery is very pretty and the platforming was the perfect challenge--not too tough, not too easy. One of the better LBP levels, IMHO.

I do have 2 suggestions. For the most part the level is great but I think it would be even better if you made these tweaks.

First: Do something to tell the player that sometimes it will take a while for the glow-fly (that's what I've been calling it in my head) to reach the player when the player dies. For the most part this is not an issue, but there was one place where I died quite far from my last checkpoint, and as a result I re-spawned in complete darkness. I waited a few moments to see if a new glow-fly would appear or something, and when it was still dark after a moment or two, I restarted the level. During my second play-through I realized how the glow-fly actually works, and the next time I died far from a checkpoint, I waited four or five seconds and the fly came back. I would let the player know (most easily through the talk bubble where the fly introduces itself) that if the player dies far from the last checkpoint, the best strategy is to wait several seconds for the fly's return.

Second: I ran into a glitch with the glow-fly--I don't know how common it is but I thought I'd bring it to your attention. When I got to the area with the deadly water, I died at some point shortly after reaching it. I re-spawned at the last checkpoint and waited for the fly. Unfortunately, when the fly tried to come back to me, somehow it got "stuck" right next to the fountain of fiery-plasma stuff. It stayed, slightly tilted and shaking, in one place and would not budge out of it no matter where I moved. This unfortunately made the remainder of the level unbeatable. Like I said, I don't know how often this glitch can occur but you might want to look into it.

Overall a fantastic level, and good implementation of a clever concept. F4F Sky Palace, the link is in my signature.

sry for the double post. Just wanted to say that I have updated the level. The glowing fly will now tell you to wait and I made it a little faster.
And to SoopidSnake: I really tried to "force" the bug you reported, but for me everything worked fine. I guess it was random or i misunderstood you

P.s.: And for the ones who are interested ^^ Part 2 out now

First off I love the way you little thing moves it really gives it a free flowing movent that gives the illusion its not on rails or a pre determined path which I havent even seen before so thumbs up there. Maybe he could be a little quicker though but thats just meno biggie. I thought the look of your level was nice too and it really did the job. I really enjoyed the glowing plants, decorations the tree, the lighting and just everything in particuar. Such a simple yet effective level. The length was perfect in my opinion, it made me want more. Its better to have a player wanting more than wanting less true? Oh and I must say this, growing plants FTW! Great level dude.

I also know what its like to fight with the thermometer bigtime believe me I hope you check out my level, "Resident Raytech" as soon as you get the time to. It is a mysterious high tech facility of unknown origins which you must navigate your way out of. My aim was to create one truley unique looking level with technically unique mechanics and contraptions that have not been seen before in LBP. I focussed hard on creating an an all round and balanced level that appeals to the tech heads and the casual, the pro's and the noobs alike so there is truley something for everyone. I hope you enjoy. Please leave me some feedback aswell. Thank you.

The gameplay of this level is pretty decent, but the visuals of the level's forest area looked as unique as James Cameron's "Avatar". The cavern part is a bit unpolished, but the the fairy showing you the path is quite clever. The bouncy flowers are ingenious too. Overall, the level could use more innovation, but I understand that the thermo of this level is full. However, the plants looked great. 5 stars.

Pretty nice.
I was impressed with the firefly at the start, as that was the first thing I tried to make in LBP but completely failed.
Did it use a sackboy tracker with vertical movement also? You should give the logic away as a prize.

I don't feel the bike at the start is necessary, as you cannot ride it, and it originates from Metropolis levels, not the Canyons.
I would also take out the thermo object at the end. I hate it when people use the thermo excuse and apologise to the player about the length. Bah. Just add it in the level's description or something.
The worst part of the level was that darn magic mouth about the light seed. Never break the immersion and say "don't hold onto item x or it will break/etc".
Find a solution that works in the level.
