Cog's HD Beta Recording Service (CLOSED)

It's been a while since I've had an active recording service, but the LBP2 beta brought a lot more content and a large majority of people wanting to see that stuff. (Btw, I don't actually have the beta as of the posting of this thread, but it comes out next week, and so I want a list of what to record before hand so I can get it done faster.) Also, it is known that the beta levels will not be in the full game, and the only way to save them is to record them for viewing.

In case you have never seen any of my videos and their quality, here's an example;

So starting now I shall be taking requests for levels/story levels/music/create mode videos. But, I have a checklist of requirements for the requests:


I shall only be taking 6 levels/music requests at once, (which I will add to the below queue) meaning that once the queue is full, any later requests for levels/music will be ignored until the 6 have ALL been finished recording/uploading. At that point I will only look at new requests, and requests given during the point where my queue is full shall be ignored.


If you are requesting for me to record music YOU made, I would love to have some sort of picture I could use an album cover that I would place instead of watching my sackperson standing still and doing nothing. So that 'album cover' could either be a picture given to me through the internet, or an in-game object that fills the screen, letting me record it separately and use it as the picture.


Patience. I have other things to do, and recording/editting/rendering/uploading takes between and hour and 2 hours for ONE video. (though I can upload multiple videos at once so that can make it go by a bit quicker.)


Please make sure there isn't already a (HD) video of your request already on YouTube, as I want to upload videos not already out there.


My services will be and always have been for FREE, meaning I will not take donations and tips.


When requesting a level, please leave the (as near as you can to the correct one) title of the level, the creators PSN, and to make it even easier for me, the lbp.me link. Will help when I'm looking for it.


If you are requesting a level that should be played by more than one person, do NOT expect it to be played by that many people. I barely see any of my friends playing the beta, and if they are playing it they are usually busy. So, having to wait and find someone to play with is not a fun thing to do. This means that the level will be played by me and me only. (Normally.)


As for what you can request, I shall be allowing: Create mode walkthroughs (The new tools and logic.), Community levels, Story levels, Music (Custom-made with the sequencer.), Other Menu walkthroughs (Planet customization, search engine, etc.)

EDIT: Ok, got some trouble here. You're level keeps giving me the Failed to Load Level error. It even zooms into the white, then back out with the error. It's getting late anyways so I'll give it another go tomorrow.

EDIT2: It seems it has to do with us NAers not having the 1.01 patch, so we can't play levels created with that patch. (All the levels pretty much...) It's supposed to come out soon, so until then, I can't record your level 		2010-10-16 01:16:00

Well, I just finished recording Chalkboy, Music kills, and Danse Macabre, and before I render those, I have to render Asbestos' music level, and so I may have 2 done and uploaded tonight, but if not, they should all be up by tomorrow night

EDIT: Finished making the song time table for Asbestos' level, and now it's rendering. Should be done in about an hour, then It'll take another to upload. So it looks like this will be the only one uploaded today, but I'll be able to render another.		2010-10-29 02:18:00

As a fellow musician, I can say, yes

The highest integer note you can make is a 16th.
If you use very short notes you get the definite triple hit sound, but if you use a bass sound or a synth wave then you can't really hear the individual notes.

Wish I was in the beta.....hey, do you think you could do special effects in certain vids (If you even have the software to start with) in exchange for extra waiting time length? It wouldn't help me, but maybe for others just to spice up advertistment. If I remember correctly, I found the level and tried it without recording, and just couldn't finish it because it kept glitching.

Hi Cog. May I request you to record "Sack Laser Deathmatch - Huge Arena" for me? Don't get fooled by the name, this is not a standard deathmatch level. I compare it to Unreal Tournament with instagib enabled

Progress report; Leafy glide has been captured/rendered, and is now uploading. It should be done in 2-5 minutes.

I've also finished editing the Surreal Space. I decided to keep the normal image you see, (as I really like it) but I added in some stuff to cut out the PSN sign ins and the beta thingy at the bottom.

As for the Sack Deathmatch level, I still need to find some people to play with I'll talk to some of my friends later about it.

Finally, next week (starting Tuesday) I'll be on a slow down. I won't be going on LBP2 as much (Black Ops instead ) so if you want your level recorded I advise you post soon, as I do believe the beta also ends in a week or so.

Well about 3 weeks ago when I got my beta code email, the email stated that we would only have it for 3 weeks.

EDIT: Gosh darn it! Sony vegas likes to show me things that aren't true. I edited in some stuff for Surreal Space, rendered it, and now I've noticed that everything is off. This is why I don't like adding things into my videos, as Vegas just lies to me.

Well warlord, I'm sorry, but it looks like I won't be able to do any editing to change it's look. It'll just stay as you see it in the beta, as no matter what I place and no matter how accurate it LOOKS, when it's been rendered, it'll be off place and just look ugly Other people seem to have the same problem, and come to no fix for it.		2010-11-05 00:03:00

Hi Cog,

I would absolutely love to have a video of my Lunar Combat level!

The level's gravity system makes it look really cool in motion. And it shouldn't take long to record, because it lasts for less than three minutes.

Was planning on filming some more today, but unfortunately the fever I had did not want me to. Now that all those lovely chunks have exited my body, I think I can film a couple more.

Ok, I've gotten all the video recorded and edited. Which is good, as tomorrow I'll have my xbox plugged in so I can play Black Ops, and I really don't want to have to hop from console to console.

I'd render some videos now, but I need sony vegas to edit a school project, but once that is done I'll get to work rendering. So everyone can expect their levels uploaded some time between now and the end of the week.

This will also probably be my last batch of levels I record for the beta, seeing as once my Black Ops playing has died down, the Beta will probably be over, and I don't want to have to record anything while I'm playing Black Ops for the first couple days.

It was pretty fun, when we found each other I see why 4 players is recommended. Would of had more people play it, but I don't know many other Beta users.

I hope you managed to have some fun with the level, despite the laggyness.


I'm afraid there's something about that level which makes it lag badly online.
If you compare the length of your video to the in-game timer, you'll notice that it took over 4 minutes for the game to count up to 3 minutes. The gameplay is supposed to be 33% faster! :0

Ok, I've gotten all the video recorded and edited. Which is good, as tomorrow I'll have my xbox plugged in so I can play Black Ops, and I really don't want to have to hop from console to console.

I'd render some videos now, but I need sony vegas to edit a school project, but once that is done I'll get to work rendering. So everyone can expect their levels uploaded some time between now and the end of the week.

This will also probably be my last batch of levels I record for the beta, seeing as once my Black Ops playing has died down, the Beta will probably be over, and I don't want to have to record anything while I'm playing Black Ops for the first couple days.

So yeah, if you request your level to be record from now on, do not think that it will be recorded before the beta ends. So don't get your hopes up.

I know that our beta creations won't carry over to the full game but I kinda forgot about that when I was making my music level which is a shortened version of a Korn song called "Here To Stay".
I should have just slapped the music object on a piece of cardboard and a scoreboard but i went that bit further & made a level to go with it. Perhaps you could record that if you find the time.

Another update; I've finished recording all the levels aside from Mini Motorstorm. (I'll get to rendering them tomorrow) I haven't recorded Mini Motorstorm just because I don't know if there is an actual ending, or something, as it seems it's just an open area to drive around in. Ladylyn, if you could just tell me what do in the level, that would be great.

Something that's been grinding my gears (lol) is a small detail that anybody who watches my videos should know about, and that's the fade from white in the beginning of every level, and the fade to white at the end. It seems that a lot of levels that I finish freeze at the end, then instantly take me to the zooming out of the patch part, skipping the fade. Kinda sucks But, I can deal with the small amount of times it happens.		2010-11-20 03:41:00

Okay, update;

Retrocalypse, and The Fox and the Crow are recorded, Shoot 'Em Up is rendered, and Grapple Station is rendering. As for King of the Hill, that will take a bit longer as I have to wait until someone I know who has the beta comes on and plays it with me (because it wouldn't be fun to watch with just one person playing.)

Also, something I've wanted for a long time now is an intro for my videos. There's no way I'd be able to make one myself as I'm no good at that kind of stuff, but if anyone wants to make me one, or knows someone who could, please tell me, and we could talk about it more.		2010-11-28 22:38:00

Okay, I've finished the 200th video special, and now it's rendering. I'm hoping that it is as it is in Vegas, as Vegas tends to change the video when it's rendered for some stupid reason I can't seem to fix

So, once that's done uploading I'll start recording the levels, but I don't think I'll be getting to rendering them all today as I'm going to go see a movie in an hour and half. I'll try to upload as many as I can tomorrow, as long as I don't get much homework (as I already have a project to do).

But I'll definitely have everything up and ready for the end of this week

3D Dungeon Crawler - Corridors of Madness , I'd really appreciate it

The thing about this level is that it's really holo heavy so my camera would just record a big blur. Please also fit in the title and bonus themes, the level is short and those themes only last a few seconds so hopefully it should fit. The title theme is a small melody that repeats twice, and the bonus theme is just 12 bars. It should play no matter what when you finish the level.

Edit: while I"m at it, I always wanted a vid of my original top down deathmatch level. (Remember it's multiplayer, needs many people) I just recently updated it since it broke after patch: Fixed grenades, added grenade pickups, made bullets react better (laser bullets won't collide with eachother)

Okeleedokelee. I've got that story level uploading and I'm about to record the Da Vinci tutorial music.

Also, in other news, I received an email yesterday with a code for the Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves levels. I redeemed it, and installed it, and was excited to play it with absolutely no Move controller, buuuuut, the game won't start up without one.



But do not fret! My friend has the move and I've asked him to let me borrow it tomorrow, so I'll be recording all those levels and upping them to the toobs. So yeah.

Almost all of my time creating in LBP 2 BETA was spent making my level, entitled "Chrome Labyrinth". Unfortunately I haven't published the latest prototype build, but I would appreciate it if you'd record once I make an update here.

Since the LBP 2 levels will be thrown away, I'd like to have some reference to look at so I can recreate it within the final version of the game. I would appreciate it if you would record the level, but instead of doing a general playthrough, I'd like it if you'd go through and explore. There are many multiple paths and some secret rooms. There is a loading circle in the bottom left corner, it activates when you press X, however After its initial activation, You may have to tap x a few times to get it to work again. Okey, I've finally finished recording all the levels. (Most I've had to do in one go!) Must say though, that was a great set of very different levels.

Now for rendering them all, which will take some time seeing as one of the levels took my 25 minutes to finish! (A great 25 minutes though.)

I also just bought a game, which I want to go play, and it's for the computer. If I'm rendering I won't be able to play it, so rendering will also be delayed a bit by that. All the levels should be done and uploaded by Sunday at the latest, most likely earlier.		2010-12-30 22:19:00

As you can see with my level, I still haven't exactly mastered the Music Sequencer. Plus, there are no decent guitar sounds in the beta. TBH, I was punching above my weight trying to recreate that song (and it was a long time since i listened to the real song). Knowing that we'd lose our beta stuff, I didn't have the patience to do the whole song so i made it a short version consisting of the intro, 1 verse, 1 chorus, & the outro. I published it because i thought the community would be more forgiving & my other music level had a positive reception. (+, I wanted to find a use for Robo Kitty). I asked Cog to record it so I'd be able to view it after the beta ends. In the full game, I hope to practice more with the Music Sequencer & try not to replicate complex metal songs. The beta is almost over, LBP2 comes out in 2 weeks, and I'm back in school.

Because of this, I'm going to stop taking beta requests.

But don't worry! In 24 hours, I shall be checking this thread, and any level requested between this post and the last post (With the last post included) shall be added to my queue, which I will now remove the limit from. After 24 hours, I shall not be taking requests!

Okay, well the Donkey Kong level is being a pain, and I seriously can't finish it. I either fall through the map halfway through, or die when my character decides to not get off the ladder, or the opposite. Sorry, but unless you want me to upload the footage I have of me losing all my lives then giving it a sad face rating, I won't be doing this one.

As for the Zombie Survival thing, I had no idea what I was doing through my many playthroughs, so In the end I just chose to use the footage where I adventure the whole area, then die when one of my followers gets killed, and his camera stops me from escaping the zombies. :/

Aaaaaaaaaand, the last one I've got to do, the one requested by someone who doesn't even use these forums.
