Blue Roo's creation workshop

Blue Roo's creation workshopMick_Leopard A level where you simply wander around, seeing "blue roo" the creators creations. "part 1" of a possible level series. Here is another level i made; Blue Roo's creation workshop. I finished this level way after i started making it, so i attempted to switch themes more than once. It always takes me like 1 or 2 months to finish a level and publish it. Anyway; The level doesn't have much of a story. You just simply wander. Although; a possible link to another level is revealed at the end. I had great expectations for this one. I tried to combine many different ideas. Which didn't turn out as expected... at all. I think my attempts always end up too complex and "mistake-full". The level is pretty short, the thermometer is almost full so i can't do anything about that. Unlike my first level, i am willing to improve this one. I think i have learned something already; Do not try to include too many different gameplay elements. Good levels are usually based upon just one. I will probably recycle some ideas from here for further use. I personally like the jump pads at the end f the level (yet i hate the ones before, they just don't work!), or the part you must take all the "creature brains" to make platforms break down. I got inspired by certain LBP2 videos and a level called "Dave-İnchi's work shop". Im planning to make my next level less complex (thermometer was almost full before i was half-way through creating the level!). Well, i guess that's it. Hope you enjoy this new level and help me improve it | 2010-10-09 16:10:00 Author: Mick'o'Mania Posts: 83 |
wow... It has been like two weeks, yet no replies... Oh well, guess the name wasn't catchy enough or the level has way too many bugs, yet i should have been informed right? Isn't that's the purpose of the F4F thing? NVM; The level is odd, i like the end of it though, still no one made it that far anyway (11 plays, completed once ). | 2010-10-15 18:32:00 Author: Mick'o'Mania Posts: 83 |
I played your level and hated to see it was 2 star, you can tell by the stickers used you put some time in making it. but heres my feedback: Positives: +Kangaroo was well made +Puzzles were pretty good +Decorations you used was good also Negatives: -Intro you had was good but the sticker wasn't fully place around the cardboard -The box that you fly in with the jetpack was a okay idea but didn't like it that much -Room after the electric roller on the ceiling with the blue jump pads, I jumped on one of the pads and it threw me to the bottom right of the jump pads into an empty area. Might want to block it off. Sugguestions: -I think you should start delete the level and start over because to only have 11 plays in 6 days? might want to give it another go. Overall the level was worth playing::star::star::star: if you ever need someone to play or test any of your levels I wouldnt mind doing it F4F: SSBB- Battleship Harlberd Interior | 2010-10-15 23:01:00 Author: Sabre_ Posts: 653 |
Whoops... Forgot that gap! Thank you! I really spent a fairly long time on this level. Created some new stickers, tried using different decorations. I guess that might have been a mistake, since the thermometer is almost full. Maybe i shouldn't use too many different materials. I was planning to use the "flying box" idea through out the level but then i too realized it didn't work well so i gave up the idea and continued the level with various other ideas, mostly jump-pads (that are obviously inspired by lbp2). That is a main problem. Since i don't try things in a blank level before i use them, if i even decide that they don't work, i usually leave them there (same thing in the Ice-cream Factory level). Yet i did give up many "jump pad + u shaped glasses" ideas. I worked on the visuals a lot. Like the clock tower that sparkled and stuff once you got into it and the "almost collapsing" building with delayed jump pads. Well, i was planning to make the intro like "presented by; /a level by..." but then got too lazy and tired and decided to recycle the level icon instead. I might be able to fix some stuff next weekend. Yet i always want to start something entirely different. This time i will really try to improve this level though. Thank you for the feedback ! | 2010-10-17 19:32:00 Author: Mick'o'Mania Posts: 83 |
