We got materials and costume thread, so i'm crazy and i gonna record all the sounds packs that are available in the beta and there a ton more of them then in LBP1. Got quite good mic in camera so it should be ok, turn on HD mode for best quality

I don't know if you, but when i browse the sounds i always have visions of levels in my head and idea how i can use those sounds, so it's good inspiration for your LBP2 plans

Great stuff! It's going to be difficult deciding which old sounds stay in the levels I've been working on and which ones will get replaced. There's some FANTASTIC new sounds in there! Especially the mechanical and sci-fi kind of effects! I can't freakin' wait to start layering these to create new sounds of my own! I am stoked!! Thanks so much for this!2010-10-09 06:36:00

imo It sounds like small amount gas escaped from somewhere, chemical reaction, gas poping up from the bubble, something like that

I didn't record them all yet and i didn't finish even half of them, i gonna record more later. there few large categories to go, like ton of sackbot noises

Part 3 and 4 are up! Includes Mechanisms, Monsters, Musical, Retro, Sackbot noices (Ever heard purring sackbot?),Sci Fi.

last Part 5 and 6 tomorrow, it will be last parts if i fit rest on 22 minutes

Yes, you can trigger anything with the sequencer and for the stuff that you can't place on the sequence you can use batteries to trigger them.

Yes, basically anything that's placed down like a decoration from the tools bag can be put on the music generator, including sound objects, and things like switches.

I"m gonna go out on a limb here and say yes, the music sequencer is basically just a schedule for events. I think I've seen videos too where they just put in sound objects instead of music piano roll style pieces. You can also turn off the 3D sound effect for the sound objects to make them work like music, so yeah.

I didn't watch the videos so I didn't know.

The sounds for engines are still pretty limited and there are hardly any sounds in some categories (if I remember right one section has something like 5 sound effects). The sackbot sound effects don't seem very useful but it's nice to have them there. I'd still like to see more sound effects added for the final release.

Who said that? I have only heard about there being more musical instruments.

Anyway, that's good, because the only new engine start-up sound in the beta is for an aircraft. It sounds cool but when your car starts up and sounds like a plane you knows there's a problem

They are the same as LBP1(on the eye), sequencer sound banks replace there main function so they don't add more of them.2010-10-11 01:11:00

Part 5 and 6 are up! Those are last of the sounds, next i will do instrument at in few days, got request and also i got level in works that i would like to publish before US phase will start, where might be harder to get attention (we don't know how new cool pages will act with more people)

One thing I have noticed is that the sounds which depend on the "change sound" tweak - such as the engine sounds which are very quiet at the default level but as you tweak them higher and lower it sounds as though the car is moving faster or slower - sound as the "fast movement" version in the preview rather than the "no movement" version which sounds like not much at all.

Edit: It seems to still do what it used to do for old sounds, this could mean I'm wrong and there are no new sounds which work like the old ones with the "change sound" controlling speed rather than pitch.

Yea i notice that too,like with train(that also got reverse sounds),too bad i didn't think to play with speed onother engine sounds.They really should make analog speed input,it would allow to utilize it in easy way2010-10-11 13:26:00

Awww...

I was kinda hoping Mm would add more 'realistic' instruments, rather than all that synth.

Hopefully in the final game, I guess...

My only worry is that the true sampled sounds will be difficult to implement. Look at how much blue thermo the drums take up... now imagine that they recorded all types of noise you can make with a saxophone... it will take up sooo much thermo. Should be a way that they only load certain sounds into memory rather than the whole block. And to get decent sounds out of a saxophone, guitar, trumpet you NEED samples otherwise it sounds synthy and crap.
