Servers Slow Now!

there servers are up but there slow and bad... i can pretty much ocnfirm this cuz a few of my psn friends told me of the same problems...


symptoms include ( but are not limited to);

failure to load online levels
failure to connect to friends
game getting messed up ( rewind getting stuck in my case... )

Has it affected anybody when playing offline? In the beta even when I wasn't signed into PSN it would freeze and mess up.2008-10-28 00:06:00

It's only just come on though, they're probably still working on them, I mean the game still isn't officially out everywhere yet, plus they could be doing what they did with the BETA and just using a small amount of the servers power, I don't think there is no need to worry.2008-10-28 00:23:00

it's actually affecting my game...

i'm in build mode alone.. and i can't rweind, it gets stuck, and it freezes every so often... how is it possibly screwing my game up over the internet?

Thank god! I thought for sure it was just my internet not being fast enough. Same problems as everyone else. Messing up even when I play alone and in build and online it is super laggy and takes forever. Had to reset twice so far. Hope they fix it!2008-10-28 01:36:00

Welcome to beta 2.0! I hope this doesn't last long. Man they had the beta and the servers were having problems then. What did they think was going to happen! Not an unlikely situation with the servers as they just went live today. I'm sure they actually expected it. Give it a few days for them to keep up with the volume of people. Wow! Me And Clank tried to play... Ridiculous! I mean it's like it would freeze for 20 seconds, and all of a sudden it would go SUPER SPEED AND SHOW EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED IN THOSE 20 SECONDS! I really do hope its just cuz they went live today!

I, like everyone else, am glad it's not just me. When the servers first opened it was all good, but later in the day when people started getting home it got bad. Of course it will be fixed, so in the meantime just make levels and unlock stuff.2008-10-28 02:52:00

If they don't manage to fix this soon, tomorrow, all hell will break lose when the other 50% of people who pre ordered at gamestop, and everyone getting it from anywhere other than Best Buy (they say not getting it until Nov). Everyone is gonna be online and sharing files causing it to slow down even more and people not liking it and just stop playing causing the games hype to drop.2008-10-28 02:53:00

I bet they only have a few servers up and running. As the week goes on there should be an improvement with this lag. I didn't have any problems last night or early this morning. Its just a load of people bogging down the servers they do have up. Expect improvements soon. I doubt they're going to let us suffer.

Btw, I suggest just logging out when trying to use create. I have yet to have the rewind get stuck.		2008-10-28 03:50:00

When we started playing last night Australian time (Mid Day USA East Coast) when the servers went up we had no issues with lag at all, that was with me in Brisbane and Absyinth in Washington state.

What you were all seeing was everyone getting online at once when they got home from work or school along with the first day rush. Give it time for the hype to settle a bit and for Sony to tweak the server load.

Sam Protagonist from Sony has posted the following on the Playstation Underground forums.


The LittleBigPlanet servers are now up and running, however there may be some ongoing configuration work that needs to be carried out in order to keep the sharing side of the game running smoothly. There may be some limited interruptions to the service as a result of this, but we do not believe any outages will be longer than 10 minutes, and this should only be an issue for the first few days at the most.

Of course, no changes may be needed at all, in which case please disregard the above, however I'd sooner mention the possibility of this happening in advance than it take you by surprise.

Server Status

We're aware of some performance issues with the servers at present, and investigations are ongoing to resolve these issues. Apologies for any frustration this may cause in the meantime.

Well, the story mode is excellent so far.. I'm from Holland too and yeah, it's pretty laggy right now. As for online play, you're not missing out al all 		2008-10-28 09:22:00

It was a given that there would be server issues the first week or so. Whether it's better for these other territories to have to wait on the game I can't say; we can still play offline without any lag and continue to work through single-player.

Keep in mind that this always happens with new titles as many people have said. There's no feasible way to predict the quantity of servers required for any given title until the product is released and things start crashing all around. It'll all be just fine.		2008-10-28 12:16:00

It's really bad when you go to put a sticker down or change your costume, and it takes forever to load so you're stuck standing there like a moron unable to press any buttons to do anything until it loads...		2008-10-28 23:23:00
