Shouldn't There Be More Add-On Content Introduced?

I mean ever since the anticipation of LBP2 the DL content just came to a halt. LBP1 isn't done yet. The Marvel costume kit was the last released DL content which is sad because, I was really looking forward to some more level kits. < | 2010-10-05 02:40:00 Author: donta133 Posts: 182 |
yep i 100% agreed with you!!! We need more DLC!!!! | 2010-10-05 02:42:00 Author: shadow3596 Posts: 2442 |
I have a feeling from here on out most of the DLC is gonna be cross-compatible | 2010-10-05 03:43:00 Author: Foofles Posts: 2278 |
I doubt they will come out with more DLC before LBP2 is out. They had to set the release back just so they could fix bugs. Honestly if i was MM, the last thing i would want to do is make more DLC when i have a huge project (LBP2) to work on. You also have to remember the MM staff is only 40 members strong. EDIT: also they might open the beta to everyone after the main testing is done. | 2010-10-05 03:47:00 Author: TheAffected Posts: 626 |
Which would you rather have, a final DLC pack for LBP1, or more polish/additions for LBP2? Also, LBP2 will be a huge DLC for LBP1, and theres the beta (possible to become public at some point) which will be like unfinished DLC. | 2010-10-05 04:27:00 Author: Kog Posts: 2358 |

New DLCs are great and all... but I am FO SHO willing to wait until LBP2 comes out. LBP2 will be like DLC x9000. (If they do come out with DLC before LBP2 is out, it will probably be something like a LBP2 t-shirt lol.) | 2010-10-05 04:47:00 Author: ShamgarBlade Posts: 1010 |
I can wait until LBP2 for more DLC. Anyone who has LBP basically has the "classic" DLC for LBP2 (since we all know newbies will be buying LBP2 instead of LBP), and, if you're someone like me, you have about every pre-order DLC available at launch. But what I would like is if Mm were to re-release all seasonal DLC as a last-chance sort of thing (like the space suit), since there's ony 1 DLC that I'm missin' (and they only released it ONCE, thank you!! ), and that it'll give everyone else a chance to buy it before LBP2 takes over. | 2010-10-05 06:16:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |

lol, we already got 130+ DLC things and you say that's not enough? I have a feeling from here on out most of the DLC is gonna be cross-compatible What he said. Do remember that LBP2 costumes are exclusive for LBP2 and not compatible with LBP1 Future LPB1 costumes and DLC may be compattible with LBP2, but I'm plenty sure there wil be a lot of LBP2-only content that LBp1 wouldn't be able to handle. | 2010-10-05 18:30:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
More of everything! All at once! Costumes, stickers, decorations, everything! And peanuts! | 2010-10-05 19:54:00 Author: moonwire Posts: 1627 |
Not really, I'd rather have MM focusing their efforts on fixing up LBP2. | 2010-10-05 20:05:00 Author: X-FROGBOY-X Posts: 1800 |
lol, we already got 130+ DLC things and you say that's not enough? Ugh YEA I DO. A large majority of DLC in LBP1 are COSTUME PACKS! Not level Kits! | 2010-10-05 23:38:00 Author: donta133 Posts: 182 |

He said "most" DLC. This was my thinking too. I hope LBP2 material doesn't exclude players who can't afford the game. As for the old engine not being able to handle any new DLC... I'm not sure about this? I mean, sure the graphics are highrer res and all that, but after seeing some of the new DLC (costumes, materials, decorations)... I honestly don't see a massive improvement in the actual quality outside of what's being used to generate the items? Hmmm.... you might be right, but I hope it's not the case. | 2010-10-05 23:46:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |

I can see all sides of this discussion. I hate the idea of exclusion, and I don't think Mm are about that... at least I'd hope not. I'm sure both games will contunue to get added content at least for a good period of time. I mean, everyone knows the new game is going to have most people running out to buy it, but they also must know that some will wait, either by choice or otherwise. Of course, I did just watch a movie with puppies and unicorns so I'm feeling all... ahem... uhh... nevermind. | 2010-10-06 05:13:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |

Well there is going to be things you can't make compatible with both LBP1 and 2, right? Like animated costumes, materials, and tools upgrades (creator packs). What if MM releases a level pack that comes with levels that use LBP2 tools and materials? | 2010-10-06 17:31:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |

You guys want MM working on LBP2? On a blog post, they said that they're not the only ones making DLC for their game. I'm pretty sure the Marvel and PotC packs weren't made by them. | 2010-10-06 19:38:00 Author: qrtda235566 Posts: 3664 |

What if MM releases a level pack that comes with levels that use LBP2 tools and materials? Oh absolutely there will be. That's only part of the debat though. We are discussing the hopeful speculation that some of it WILL be cross-compatible. Thats exactly what I meant. Wasn't sure, because of this quote here. Anyways, I'm just hopeful that at least some of the DLC is backward compatible and will be released for both games... even though it won't affect me. | 2010-10-07 01:14:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |
Anyways, I'm just hopeful that at least some of the DLC is backward compatible and will be released for both games... even though it won't affect me. I think that the solution for this is: "If it's going to be for both LBPs, release for LBP1. If it's going to be for LBP2 only, release for LBP2. If all LBP1 content is compatible in LBP2, new LBP1 addons should be updated into LBP2. | 2010-10-07 01:27:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |
