does Jump_button have a crown? if not that is SOOO WEIRD, aslo umm Idk if Evil panda has one, but he should aswell, and idk but id say maybe Ricky bobby, Bloo, Lightmare and Lockstich, maybe they still have to get known a little more but so far they are showing ALOT of promise, so yeah those 3. I mean these guys are epic and i think they deserve a crown if not, then maybe 1 or 2 more epic level but still, even if they dont have a crown there all Epic creator and they deserve ALOT more ^^.

I really don't think crowns should be handed out according to creation skills, if it were like that, the known creators would obviously receive crowns, but the other good creators out there that simply don't get noticed wouldn't get one.

This would also mean Mm would also have to check out every level they're told about...as it would be unfair if they would only look at what was always there.		2010-10-04 01:19:00

x-nobody-x for all who he inspired to start creating. He was one of the first friends I had on lbp and a big part to why I decided to give creating a go, especially after seeing him create his awesome kingdom hearts level in just 3 days. While crowns are good and rare, bug blaster costumes are even rarer! Has anybody recieved both?

I don't know how Mm chooses people to receive a crown or what the requires are, I don't even know how many top creators have them. But I once played a level where the creator said he got a crown simply by sending Mm a cake!

Hopefully Mm can slip us the numbers of how many they have gaven out, they do have a list, I know that.		2010-10-04 02:48:00

Well, I don't know who was a crown, except I know Morgana25, gevurah22, MrGenji and Comphermc do Anyway, here's a couple creators who I think deserve a crown if they don't have one already.

in the beta i've realized i can give away my crown and bug blaster on a sackbot, and i've decided that whoever i feel deserved a crown in LBP1 and never got one will get one. they really mean nothing considering how many people got them for everything OTHER than being amazing creators, and how many people put in months upon months of work, or innovated ideas that they were never credited for but are standard practice now, who never did... but still, I know my history on here, and even a tarnished badge of honor is better than none at all.		2010-10-04 08:42:00

the crown's been pointless since the first one's... and i should know, i got one in the first batch

...but i'm sure they can and will just implement a 'you don't have the required dlc' feature. in the long run, that feature in general is going to impede long term sharing when it comes to huge custom interfaces.		2010-10-04 11:20:00

He is an old creator under a new name, and I don't like deception like that. It seems to be a little bit like pretending to be an amazing newcomer to make a big splash.

I agree with asbestos a little...dont hate me im not saying hes not good, hes Epic. Lockstich is the best Platformer creator out there of all Lbp, but a crown..idk, hes epic
but a little overrated dont you think?...

Dont get me wrong I loved Realm forgoten and Vile Anchourage but..i think he still has to do more.

I mean for example look...Steve big guns, isnt only a great platformer creator, but also Artistic, with his Scenery, vehicles etc., Hes even made survival, Mini Games, a Horror level (Sewer One), a Recreation of Dead Space (A VERY epic one), even a recreation or Mario see what i mean?

Dont get me wrong Lockstich is EPIC, but so far..his platform levels seem to repeat themselves a little, when Lockstich makes atleast an Art Level, a Recreation or Inspired on something or maybe a Series with a Great Story, then i will actually say he deserves a crown.... but right now, hes a little overrated, No offense to him hes GREAT, keep it up! ^^		2010-10-04 12:51:00

I agree with Steve, xnobodyx deserves one. He was the first creator I gave a heart to and he inspired me to create. I know, I haven't done anything even moderately good-ish with that inspiration, but still. I have hearted all of his levels and wish he would put out another one already.2010-10-04 16:02:00

Hehe, well first of all, I'm not really interested in crowns...they don't really serve any purpose. But I do agree that there are many authors who deserve a crown much more than I do.

Second, I changed my name after playing LBP for a month and a half (and publishing one mediocre level), b/c my old name sucked. No trickery was intended...

When I play a creator's levels I really like it when their levels seem like a 'brand.' I love platforming levels, thus you will probably not see much of other types of levels anytime soon...		2010-10-04 17:30:00

mrsupercomputer, jackofcourse, jump_button, steve_big_guns, geosautus, captaincowboyhat, gruntosuk and comphermc are the best creators ever imo. there's tiers though.

I think Lockstich's levels are artistic, probably some of the more artistic levels I've played recently. But I think it takes a little more than making some great levels to get crowned.		2010-10-05 00:01:00

i don't know, i saw it in one of dragonvarsity's creator interviews. i forget what it was.

and @ awesomeman's... i think gruntosuk and the level of the year noms were the only people to get crowns strictly off the quality of their published levels. i got one for a level i hate that i made in 4 days, and nothing for all the good stuff i'm proud of. at least i went back and rebuilt it in the beta from scratch and killed the original a 100 times over IMO to come full circle for it.		2010-10-05 04:25:00

Yes, that's true. Most people get crowns from either winning competitions, community work, or crazy things they do and then submit to media molecule. I got my crown because someone submitted my animation to them that I did.

That is 100% true, thats why there are alot of creators that deserve a corwn but havent got one.
They way they seem to be given out given out is nothing to do with the actual game. Any one that spends time in LittleBIGPlanet and are able to make a good level are in LittleBIGPlanet creating a good level... not on a web site entering a contest that has little relevance to the game.
Most crowns are won on costume or levels contests which any one mentioned here could win with not much effort. Its only just recently that more known creators have entered contests.

But yeah its not a big deal, any one that really wants one seems to have one. Because they have focused on that more rather then actually making a level.

And thanks dr-booty, I think I deserve one too... I think every one mentioned does, your self included.
But if steve_big_guns hasnt got one then they shouldnt even bother giving him one, they should just give him a job he is incomparable.

8. How did you get the name Lockstitch?

Well, I started playing LBP with my previous PSN account “Phoenix_3049.” However when I realized that I wanted to get serious about creating in LBP I decided I needed a better, more original name for a creator. I looked though many sources for a good name, like dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc. I came across “Lockstitch” in a list of sewing terms and it called to me. I’ll include the definition here, lol.
“Lockstitch: a sewing machine stitch formed by the looping together of two threads, one on each side of the material being sewn.”

I remember how after a while Lockstitch deleted "The Whispering Grove". IT seems if you search "Phoenix_3049", you'll find "The WhisperingGrove" there if you havem't played it yet but you wanna. 		2010-10-05 22:47:00

Not sure if I missed this name being brought up, but I think Fotosynthesis1 is certainly deserving. I stumbled on their levels three nights ago and have gone back each day since to replay their levels. Every single one of his/her levels are breathtakingly beautiful and wonderful to play. I think all the techy guys who chose to share their advanced logic tools with the community instead of keeping stuff to themselves should get a crown, for providing other creators with the means to bring their ideas to life and for keeping the spirit of "play, create , share" alive. From the sackies 2009 (though IDK if MM will do it again this year) - nomination for Level of the Year and winner of Best Community Project.

Predictably, I didn't win Level of the Year, but that's the one I count, if I have to count one

Ok, my turn, i'd say Lockstitch, he's an amazing creator (crownless), his levels make you go 'WHAA?' when that platform flips, curves in an arc then shoots upwards (just a demo of his talent), he's hosting an amazing contest giving generous prizes as well.

None of us deserve crowns.

What we actually deserve is a stiff boot up the backside for obsessing over frivolous video game accessories, wasting away so many valuable hours of our relatively short lives with our sweaty palms wrapped around our dual analogue controllers while staring boggle eyed at a TV screen, and spending more time communicating with clusters of sprites than we do with our real life friends and family. And don't try telling me that's not you, because if you're here reading this then there's a 99% chance that it is. Whether you admit it to yourself or not, deep in your heart you know it.

and yes.. its the real crown.. for free.
I got even more reason not to want that crown.

What's Luos done? I've played a couple of his levels which were very good, but I'm guessing he must have done something more than that to warrant such support for being deserving of a crown?

He has made an ongoing series of levels, most of which have been spotlighted. He's made several standalone levels too. His work has continued into the beta with an MM Pick.

Apart from that, he has many video and text tutorials for creating. Luos is also a very fast creator and can roll out spotlight-quality levels within weeks of each other.		2010-11-28 23:54:00

Yeah I think Luos-Desruc and Cmckamey (speeled wrong just like i spelled spelled wrong ) cause they are awesome at making levels and are so intelligent on three of my favorite things 1.) LOGIC 2.) I'd have to say CENTURION24 and the other person who worked on the Dragon Slayer levels. The sheer amount of detail put into those levels was amazing- definetely worthy of a crown.2010-12-01 08:01:00

The only reason I'd want a crown would be if I needed it to make, say, an LBP2 Sackbot that looked like a king, to tie in with some level idea, but since I don't really make 'proper' levels, I'm unlikely to need one.

I think followig people deserve crown or at least something:
Bonner123: Great levels with great visuals are not very rare, but what Bonner has is imagination. is ideas are mad and always different. You can't guess what comes next.
Pickled-Punk: I think he deserves crown or something because he is great storyteller and he is the second actual person I know who made more than 5 levels level series(the other one is Justinart). His works may not be the best at gameplay or visuals, but the puzzles he has made ARE NOT very complicated but they are relaxing, and bring excellent feeling to his levels among the storytelling.
I can't think much of anyone else, but I really have liked Stunkel's newest levels. They are some really great work. Umm... That's all.		2010-12-22 14:26:00
