The Bunker

I've tried and tried, and tried some moar, but I just can't get past the giant wheel. I get to the part with the electric logs you have to jump over, but then it is Game Over.

I'm at that part too!

the second giant wheel, when you go down to the sewers and jump over the electric things- that's kinda tough for me. Might do it again soon, though.

Anyway... I thought you already got the all story mode levels complete trophy? Me confuzled. 		2008-10-27 22:38:00

hey, i finished story mode, my advice is, slow and steady wins the race, dont rush it, and try to keep a clear head, and keep your frustration down, it will just cloud your coordination. persistence is the key, aaaand practice2008-10-28 00:28:00

i just aced the bunker level myself right now that giant death wheel was hard but moving slow and steady is the best way to go about it.

I've aced all the levels... it was not... very... easy =/

I can beat them with the checkpoints since I may die at some parts... but the wheel has a simple strategy: jump on the platforms. If you stay on the platforms you will be fine. If you can't do that then I'm not sure what you're going to do other than practice. You have to get the timing right, since it's on a big moving wheel it feels a bit different then on stationary platforms on the ground.		2008-10-28 15:52:00

Acing the levels means you did not have to use the Checkpoints.

As for the big wheel, the only advice I can give is to use quick hops instead of long athletic jumps to get from one platform to another.		2008-10-28 17:33:00

Best platforming level in the game, but also most difficult to ace >.< I tried for about an hour one night, then had to take a break because my partner came home and wanted to play. So the next morning a Iwake up and play for another 2+ hours. By the time I beat it, I had made it past the wheel 3 times and died on the stupid electric lights on the moving conveyer belt.... made me more mad than anything. ... Nah, I find it quite fun. I almost got to the end of the wheel without dying, got to those platofrms on the outer side, mainly by hanging onto the sponge every turn around so that I make sure I'm always at the bottom when I jump (takes longer, but safer). Then I died, and just quit, because there was no point for me to continue the level. O_o		2008-11-03 19:33:00

Essentially, with the whole wheel you need to make sure you stay at the very bottom, and jump high, so you can control midair better, and land where you want. Also, remember that you can grab some fabric parts of it. That's especially useful at the checkpoint inside the wheel, where you can grab it and go all the way around and get set for the best opening.

That final, outer circle is definitely the hardest. At first, make sure you keep a constant running speed, to stay centered. Once it turns to pads, jump early and high, and make sure you land solid on the platform. Wait a little until the next one is at a good angle, and jump high and land on that. Especially as they get higher, you'll need to use a lot of control and timing, because if you miss you're dead.

Also, while you're working on that section, don't go for every bubble you can earlier in the level in order to increase your score. That'll just slow you down. Run straight to the wheel. It takes some practice to get it down, since the running speed and the jumping speed (no longer held back by the speed of the wheel) are different. So you'll need to do it several times. But it's not as hard as you're thinking it is. Just try one more time. (And if you fail, one more time again.)

And sorry, but once you're past the wheel, the level isn't quite over, yet. You've got a treadmill to go, yet.

Just remember to take your time, and timing. Don't rush it. You're not being timed in this game like you are in Super Mario Bros.		2008-11-03 20:25:00

I've been having trouble on that level, too.

One thing I'm trying to do now is to try and grabbing onto the fabric inside the wheel, I think it might help me get past it later today. I'll see how it goes.

I spent hours acing the bunker, and yes, that wheel is hard, especially when it takes 5 minutes to get there, just to die. I found though, that you really only need to make little hops when jumping from platform to platform over the electric logs, since the level is spinning underneath you.

Most frustrating of all, I killed myself twice on that final conveyor belt, cuz I jumped into the rotating spotlight, grrr.		2008-11-04 05:08:00

LOL....ROFL....hahahahahhahahahah... it looks easy.......ahahahahahahhaah that is the hardest part of the entire game. It isnt easy. The ending is hard. Inside the wheel is easy but when you get right near the end it sucks. Also once you die while trying to ace it you have to walk all the way to the wheel. It sucks...once you get the game and make it that far to the game you will see. LOL. I did beat it but it took my friend my brother and I; it took like 5 level restarts.		2008-11-04 23:56:00

Just beat it which I've now done thank God. Easily the toughest bit in the whole game although saying that it will probably be pretty easy to ace since I can easily make it to the wheel without losing a life.		2008-11-06 00:20:00

on that part just jump small and stay at the very center of the wheel on the bottom, not on the upslope nor the downslope but in the middle, it is the best place to be trust me, i had to go through it like 7 times, then after that i tried to ace it and did it on my second try because i knew how to do it2008-11-06 01:04:00

Couldn't have said it better. This is the exact way people need to approach the wheel.

I can't get over how awesomely hard that level is. I could see myself replaying it for quite some time hoping to "Ace" it.

When I beat the level, I was reminded of a great line from Rocky IV:

By the way, for those who don't know and plan on playing this in multiplayer. If you get to the outer ring of the wheel and other people are still on the inner parts, you're going to die. You should tsay in the upper parts until everybody is ready, because the wheel slows down only when everyone is in the outer part =P

Well it took me like 50,000,000,000,000,001 times but i eventualy got it, it takes practice and lots of focus, but you will get it eventually, trust me 2008-11-10 22:13:00

I kind of do agree. My brother and I played through the whole game together. Until the giant wheel. It's nigh impossible with two people at once. The camera is all over. So he had to quit while I did it myself. Quite a downer...		2008-11-11 04:20:00

Aced it yesterday.
After this it seems to be pretty easy. Wasn't difficult at all, most times I died was because I moved to fast (and I NEVER died in the wheel.)

Just got it this morning after a ton of attempts... it felt so weird to get past that, walk down the conveyor and be done...

I will say that my jumping is a lot more precise after playing the level for two weeks. I need to go back and collect 100%/ace the rest... but I'm going to give myself a break on the bunker for now.		2008-11-11 15:41:00

hey yeah i had to try to even get past this level, i did it like 7 times just to complete it and not ACE, but all of that practive on the wheel helped because it only took me 2 minor restarts of the level (where i died in like the very beginning) and then on my third try, i ACEd it so just take it slow and just calm down and if you go in with a cool head you will get anything done in this game even if it is extremely hard and i am proud to say that this was not my last level to ace, i did all of the Collector ones second after the gardens and now i have all of my levels ACEd, although i did find some of the boss levels and islands levels harder to ACE then the bunker, just practice and do all of the minigames and try and ACE those because they improve your jumping skills so they really do help and i encourage you all to do them in turn

I balanced on top of the outter wheel, ran to the very top and as far as I could go.
Tried jumping for the exit, but missed, and fluked it when I fell down and skidded off the top of a platform.
I jumped over the last couple of platforms then, and fell down the hole.
