When I was TV shopping a few years ago, albeit with my parents, we came very close to buying a Bravia ourselves. I'm assuming you live in the US but the price still seems very reasonable. I looked through it's features and it's got pretty much everything.

Seems like a good buy to me, the only thing I would recommend is you should look into getting an extended warranty, but that's up to you.

I remember looking at televisions because (at the time) I had money. I looked at a lot and found the best ones were always Samsung or LG. I will look more into it and try to find a good buy. I could definately use one to. The television I am playing LBP on is 15" and is only 480p (YIKEZ!) I NEED a new television soon because already it is hard to play games on it. For example, Mass Effect 2 was UNPLAYABLE on my television because it was not HD. Money is tight though, so I have to find a very good buy, free would be nice... 2010-10-03 03:47:00

Samsungs are pretty good, that's what I, and my parents ended up buying, it was a 40". My brother also bought himself a Samsung his was a 46". They're both good TV's, although we've had a bit of trouble with the 40", the newer Samsungs, however, don't seem to have any problems.

I'm not sure to what extent but plasma TV's are more susceptible to screen burn than LCD TV's. I'm pretty sure that's the main reason people avoid them and go with LCD instead.

Really bad screen burn when playing games. The burn can ruin the TV permanently.

My brother played halo3 on my parents TV and the hud was burnt on to the screen.
