Higgenbotham's expressions did not change very significantly.



Higgenbotham now has eyes. (note how his head is a matchbox, and when he opens his mouth you can see the matches)

All of the Curators retain the same Sad, Angry, Happy, or Frightened expression regardless of how many times you press the corresponding D-pad button, unlike Sackboy.

Aw man.. I like the old Clive a whole lot better (well, better than the very first design). I guess it was to tie in his expressions closer, but it lost some of it's pathetic cuteness. I think it's the dot pupils.

And wow.. Eve's eyes are even cooler (creepy, but I like it). I like how they put a little more red into her design, although now it looks like she has striped socks haha

Eve's eyes do blink, and she does perform the normal actions pertaining to the expressions like shaking, bouncing around, moping, etc.

Btw, do they have more custom expressions for each number of times you press the D-pad (one press, two presses, three presses) or they always keep the same face don't matter how many times you press the button?		2010-10-01 20:09:00

I do admit the previous sad face was very strange, but I definitely do not like New Clive's neutral expression or any others. If they could just take the moustache from the New Clive and combine it with the Old Clive's face, he'd be perfect.2010-10-01 22:23:00

Clive was much better before, but I think Higgenbotham was too.

I just absolutely LOVE how Victoria matches her Steam and Cake art style, very victorian (hence the cake part of steam and cake) yet Steampunkish hense her browness, I also love how she has that doll face. Also very victorian and I like Eve's look too how her eyes change with her emotion.

Is the Clive character the very new one? Because I liked the one in the old videos where he looks like patches. I hope Mm changes him back to patches. 		2010-10-02 19:24:00

He doesn't have the same moustache lol xD (but LBPC is getting waay stricter, maybe one of the Admins will think Hitler isn't family appropriate, which I don't get because I don't think children would even care about LBPC yet) but that's still hilarious

I'm pretty sure I saw a video where a sackbot was being "programmed" and the costume was being changed. It showed the creator curator costumes under their own category, so it really could go either way. They may be only for sackbots, or maybe for sackboys too.

IMO, Clive currently fit to his level feel, he is boss of the factory (right?), so he got face of boss making producing business that old face didn't have that feel. But in terms of coolness old look was better,i'm very suppriced that they change it so dramaticly, specially after adventure trailer with him in blackboard.2010-10-02 22:22:00

They are costumes created my Mm on Sackbots, similar to the Yellowhead costume. Yes, they will be available as costumes in the full game.
However, someone in the beta found a way to get the Sackbots from the level, and then gave them away so everyone could just capture the costume on the Sackbot and use it on their Sackperson.		2010-10-02 22:52:00

I think there is a tiny picture of Avalon in the Sackbots' microchip, the option where you decide how they should act. He's got ginger hair and 3D glasses if I remember correctly.

Also, didn't Higgenbotham have black and yellow swirly eyes? On Lift off, when you see him on the screen and he goes on about the sackbots, he's got swirly eyes. He looks pretty loopy. 		2010-10-03 15:06:00

I think new Clive just looks sort of petty and evil whereas the old Clive looked sort of like a beaten subservient type of guy (Well, except for his anger emote).

I mean, either way it could work for a factory manager, you got the angry boss Clive who oppresses the workers and lets his power get to his head, and then you've got the older Clive who's gotten as far up the corporate ladder that he's gonna go, and even though he's a factory manager it's still a very stressful job. I think I prefer old Clive in general (Especially the happy emote, that's classic) but new Clive might be more in line with the character's personality?I'm not sure to be honest		2010-10-03 20:03:00

Well I'm gonna be solid and say I like the new Clive.
... I don't know what it is, maybe it's because I like things wot are new and shiny, but I think it really is an improvement.
I think I know what it is:
I don't think his old faces made any sense. They looked all scribbly and weird, like an old toothbrush. But the new ones lookmore well defined, more constrained and clearer emotion - sure it'll be a pain to recreate them in the ptts level I'm doing, but... Okay I don't have a counter argument for that, it will take a while to remake the faces which we'd already done, but, meh.

I don't think the new emotions take away the charm from him.

I prefer new Clive. The expressions of the old one were too different. Looking at them all next to each other it looks like concept artwork, where the artist would experiement and try different things to see what works best. The new expressions all look like they belong to the same character.

Only thing I don't like about it is what I assume is that folded piece of paper on the left side of his face. It doesn't make any sense being there.		2010-10-03 22:38:00

Technically it's overlapped sackbots on my level, players simply unlocked the movement and move all the sackbots to the wall and they all overlap, it think it's caused by material twicker that makes sackbot ungrabbale (i place it because when you grab sackbot it will change the layer to the that player is in).2010-10-05 02:27:00

I do agree that his emotions were too different and not very consistent, but I just like Old Clive's neutral face, which is who he is. I'd prefer if they just kept his neutral face and improved the expressions that come with it. The thing about the New Clive fitting a boss-of-a-big-factory character is that it's just too common. The thing I liked about Old Clive is that he's all distressed all the time even though he owns this huge factory, and he's not very business-like at all.

Bottom: Old Clive was cute and loveable, New Clive is not.

A very clear picture of Avalon is also in the Adventure trailer, I really like him and was disappointed he was not included in the beta.
Higgenbotham's eyes were swirly like that on the screen because the spaceship had just gone into hyperdrive and he was a bit dizzy, haha.		2010-10-05 03:07:00

I liked the old ones better, except Eve, who is now my new favorite.. I really like how her eyes change with her emotions! Speaking of eyes, I liked Herb better without them. He was more . . . old-ish looking, which I liked.

R.I.P. Clive. I would actually prefer super-old-Clive, the one who looked like a calendar, over the new-new Clive. New-new Clive looks like a grump. A curmudgeon. The only improvement I can see from the second Clive to this new one is the frightened face -- if they could take that and put it on to second Clive, he'd be my favorite again. (Calendar Clive wasn't half bad; but second Clive was better.)

Is there any chance that we'll still be able to get the costumes for the old designs? I would like that.
