Warp Speed in three easy steps

Archive: 7 posts

Hey LBPC, I'm not sure if this has been done before, but I've been working on some really fast vehicles that use Warp Speed.

Step 1:
Cut out a small box in the center of your vehicle (make sure it's easy to cover up) This will make sure the impact will be balanced out so the vehicle doesn't buck or flip.

Step 2:
Pause. Spawn the MGS paintgun and fire off one round, use the small grid and resize the paintball to fit one square of the grid. Copy 'n' paste your paintball until it lags slightly. (This may take up 2-3 notches on the thermo) Capture your condensed paintball and place a 0.0 emitter on the "back side" of your carved out box. (0.0 emitter available on the mechanical magic bridge in the temples theme)

^The MGS points vendor gives you a secret 0.0 emitter.

^The paintballs are spawned

^The paintballs are moved together using the small grid

Step 3:
Set up a "One Shot" grab switch and attach it to the emitter. You can also make it directional and attach it to a piston is
attached to a timed switch; allowing the sackboy(s) to all get on. Then set the emitter to emit your condensed paintball towards the "front" of your vehcile with 400+ linear velocity. Balance your vehicle and work your way up to 500.

Is this to give the visual effect of traveling at warp speed, or to send your player across the screen in 2.5 seonds like Jet Cheetah levels?

If it's the former then I'd be interested in seeing the results. If it's the latter... I fail to see the point of launching players from one end of the screen to the other? Just wondering?

On the one with pictures it simulates Warp Speed and it launches your sackboy across levels within 1.58 seconds. I only included the speed portion of the effect because the visuals are fairly easy to create.

Yea, piston is much faster but it will almost always kill sackboy

Jets don't really carry their own weight as well as this because an emitter doesn't weigh anything am I right?
and having a hundred jets on a small vehicle makes it very ugly

thanks for the responses
