Small updates

Archive: 23 posts

Alright, I've changed a couple of things that should make our lives easier. Now, only Staff, Elite, and Gold users can use the and BB Codes. This is to prevent users from using it recklessly(i.e. "[SIZE=5][COLOR=yellow]HI!"), while still allowing the more seasoned users to use it effectively(i.e. "Important Information:"). It's a small tweak, but it should improve the overall neatness of the forums.2008-10-27 03:40:00

While it may make you feel unique it is very hard and annoying to read. Great move CC used sparingly it can be a good thing to bring attention to something critical for all users, used excessively it is just annoying and bad netiquette.

Considering the distinct lack of normal usage of those features, I'd say that's a good change. For those handful of you who actually used those features... Sorry. But I used to do the same thing, a good deal back (and on a different forum(s), in case anyone randomly decides to look). And...you'll get over it. The more you post, the more you forget to do it. Plus, you can still change font, if you want, along with the standard, more useful and more used (although I think I'm one of the few consistent users) bold, italics, and underline. Use them well.

Edit: And it can get annoying because it can be a very bright color, against this white background, and then the sheer lack of contrast and focus needed to actually read it causes eye strain. And can do the same even if not trying to read it.

1. I use it.
2. I might not get over it
3. If the stupid color bothers you either highlight it or convince him to take away light colors.
4. I sent you a PM and you didnt reply. 10/30/2008 9:03

This really shouldn't be a problem to anyone. There's no really good reason anyone below those ranks would need them. And seeing people post in bright colors does nothing but **** me off tbh.

Colt, if you truly can't get over this, you have problems.

HA HA!

>_> Sorry about that. Someone had to do it, and, uh... <_<

So, around 20 people can use it here?

Hm, oh well. Never even used it in the first place.

Maybe you shouldn't be argueing against it?

The decision has been made, which I wholeheartedly agree with. I think if you don't like it, you should get over it. It's been done to make things easier for everyone. You can't expect everyone to change everything just because you don't like it.

Rofl.

Maybe I can be special with you?

I highly doubt that you can.

Personally, me being the ultimate king of evil, I am more special then thou.

Anyway, PERSONALLY, I think it's weird how Gold and Elite members are judged to be more trustworthy, when I'M Gold. o_0

Well, this is embarrassing, but I'll be out with it anyway: It turns out the setting only affected signatures, and no setting exists to disallow certain bbcode for certain usergroups throughout the site. Still, I'd prefer it if you guys just used it when it was necessary, and not in everyday posting.2008-11-03 00:15:00
