I'm taking my driving test tomorrow! (I Passed!)

Archive: 42 posts

I can't believe it is finally happening!

I get to take one of the most important tests in the world! I really hope that I pass, I have to drive a car that I have only driven once, so it might make things a bit hard.
Are any of you surprised, are you annoyed that I'm getting it? What is your opinion? XD

Good luck! Luckily your state probably doesn't go out of its way to fail 1 in 5 test takers... >:[

Good luck! Make sure you get plenty of rest beforehand, last thing they want to see is a fatigued driver.

Just be calm and if your instructor so far was ok with your driving, then you should pass. I don't know where you are taking it though, few things to watch out for -

- Do not drive too fast or too slow. If the speed limit is 30 go around 20.
- Watch out for misleading roads if you're not familiar with the area, eg. roads with no line down the middle but are actually 2 lane / 2 way traffic. A lot of house roads are like this and if you don't turn into the proper side enough they will fail you.
- Come to a full stop at stop signs. About 3 seconds, if the car rolls at all before that - fail.
- Be confident

If you feel like you've done something near the beginning of the test that would stop you from passing, don't think; "Awww I've failed now, I might aswell not try in the rest of the test". Just concentrate on the rest of it.

I'm saying this because I thought I'd made a few mistakes at the start of my driving test, but I ended up passing. Good Luck!

My friend who ironically just failed his driving theory test told me a story the other day. His friend took the driving test and he was doing pretty good, But half way through the test the engine fell out of the car. Thats really unlucky and hopefully nothing like that happens to you. However the best part about the story is that he had actually done well enough in the first half of the test to be passed anyways.

So the car broke down but he was all just like 3P1C wIngdings

I could have learnt to drive 359 days ago, however i can legally drink next week, so it seems pointless. You can't drink and drive, after all...2010-09-26 23:12:00

Good luck! and try not to crash into a tree that's only a few feet in front of you like I did while riding one of these: http://www.honda-motorcycles.info/model_pics/2008-Honda-Ruckus.jpg
(people still make fun of me about it)

I actually can't drive 3-5 miles/hour under or over the speed limit.
We have roads like that, but it is really easy to tell how far over I need to be driving.
When I stop, I always look at the white line, if it is double, I stop just before the second line starts to disappear, if it is single, i stop right when it fully disappears.
Yeah, I should be confident, but I don't want to be TOO confident! :o
Thanks for the advice though.

Don't screw up!

Gee, I wish I had thought of that!

Nice work man! Celebrate by drinking a few beers, but since you probably don't have time to sit and drink go ahead and drink while you drive. Don''t forget to pick up some fast food to eat to. Oh, and don't forget to text everyone you know that you got your license. Hmmm, it seems your going to need a little more room to do all this, so take off that seatbelt and turn up your radio as high as it'll go! Have fun driving!

That's great! Good luck on the open roads! There's probably a gas pump just calling your name! Just like, "Come to me, bub. I will fill your tank with rich, gunk called fuel!" 2010-09-30 03:27:00

I know what ya mean. My driving instructor for some reason always had the vent pointed at the steering wheel. When ever I would drive (in that crappy neon) I would be so focused on the road that I would forget, "Oh, my hand's cold" so after an hour of that, I would get out of the car and notice I couldn't feel my hand, good times. Have my driving test next summer.

lol, I only have it pointed in that general direction so that at least some of the air gets on my face. XD
It is so hot right now where I live. It has been in the 90s the whole week!
