We can have infinite lives?

| I've been watching this beta footage video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7YvKiDGglo&feature=PlayList&p=8EA2AB5CF203E951&index=12), and the guy dies a few times, but he dosen't appear to lose any lives, even though it's a double life checkpoint. This is more noticable at the 3:23 mark. So there must be an ingame option to enable infinite lives anywhere, right? So the more casual players could keep trying without being sent to the start?
