Just wondering?

To anyone that has played the beta or has information about LBP2, I have this question? How easy is it it make a FPS in LBP2? I ask because I'm writing a script for my level and I'm wondering whether or not to do a FPS level in it.2010-09-24 23:51:00

Which type of LBP FPS? Scrolling or tilted-semi FPS? (T-S has depth).2010-09-24 23:55:00

I would want a scrolling FPS. The idea I had was to make a sackbot then put a camera on it and position it behind and just above the sackbot, if that is possible...2010-09-25 00:09:00

Scrolling aka Vietnam: FPS.

And what your talking about is ... Well it is almost possible, but has visual issues aswell.

Can you do cutscenes with it? I know there is cutscenes in the level but can you do cutscenes from the FPS angle?2010-09-25 00:25:00

You can get close witzh the new cams and a speachbubble cutscene combined, but, it's still not quite on the same angle as sackboy is.2010-09-25 00:35:00

FPS = Big layer glitch gun that emits flashes set on movers or pistons to go up, down, right, or left. It's very simple.

All hooked up to a controlinator, of course.

Yeah, that's the Scrolling way, this guy was trying to do it a different way.

I'm going to write it as a FPS level I think. If worse comes to worse I'll try and write it as it can be easily changed to a 3rd person shooter, which I'm guessing you can do quite easily?2010-09-25 03:44:00

Insanely easily. About 4 or so ways of doing it, too.

Making a FPS is fairly easily If you are going for my style that is. You just need to know how to work the 3D glitch and simple logic.

I was planing test out if i could make an 3D environment with emitters, then I got disappointed with the fact that getting rid of an object quickly and emitting another one (set to 0.0) causes flashing, if you want to cause eye strain, go for it.

Would you please go into detail in those 4 or so methods of achieving it?

I haven't seen a 3rd person shooter, but I reckon it would play out much better then a FPS could... NEW PROJECT!

You can't zoom the camera infront or behind a sackbot or sackboy, but I haven't really tried. But if you somehow could, you would be looking at flat layers.

Your atempting to do it the way the OP wanted, which doesn't work too great.

Remember back to E3/Jam? The "Oh Dayum its Rambo" level? That was a TPS.

also, you could make a "TPS" sort of the way the paintinator works, but with sights, diff weps, etc.

There are probably other ways aswel. But those two come to mind.
