Okay, so my neighbor came over to my house, and we couldn't figure out how to get it to where we could both play at the same time. We looked in the guidebook, everything. Anyone else experience the same problem? Does it have something to do with the servers being down?

All you do is turn on the second controller and it should prompt what the second player wants as his profile.
