so... does anyone know what's up with this game? There have been so many rumored dates, so many failed promises that i am beginning to wonder if it will ever come out. I want it BAADD!! 2008-10-26 21:35:00

its coming at 2010 due to 360...

that aside Final Fantasy is dead after FF 6 (ff 9 was good though)

FF7 killed the franchise with the sci-fi stuff... Why can't they just go back to the old medievel theme... FF7 was good, but it gave way for the crappy future of Final Fantasy...

in a totally unrelated note

Screw Square, selling out like that... May they feel the wrath of karma, by which I mean angry fanboys,...

yea, i am very mad that 360 gets to partake in the Final Fantasy 13 goodness.

and slow down... lets not be too hasty. To be honest i never played FF7 all the way through, but it is regarded as the best.

As for me. FF8 is my favorite. I have actually been playing it through again during the gap between LBP beta and LBP the final edition.

FF7 was great. We didn't think about how mixed up the graphics and style of that game was because it was new. It was a new experience. That's why its graphics and style still appeal to the fans today. I can't say I cared for 8 and 10's futuristic style and not 12 either. But 12 has such great gameplay. I will finish it one day. I had very little interest in it and close to zero interest in 13. I really hope they bring back another medieval 9'ish game. That was fantastic.2008-10-26 22:09:00

yea, i enjoyed nine. 10 was another one that i really enjoyed. The graphics for that game were simply astounding. I also loved 12, it's new feeling and combat system was nice, although i think i prefered the turn based style a little more.2008-10-26 22:16:00

I love sci-fi. Find medieval settings boring... I'm a technology/science person.
Really looking forward to XIII, and to be honest I like multi-platform games, the more people who get to play, the better, I can't afford to buy every console anyway.
I'd like LBP to be on Wii and 360 (not saying it technically could, or will ever), just for more people making levels. The fanboy stuff is weird to me, but oh well.

FF6 - PS1 load times (and the GameCube) stopped me completing it.
FF7 - My first RPG, was totally different from anything I'd played before.
FF8 - I could never complete this a second time, the bit where they find out they all new each other before and forgot was always the quit point.
FF9 - My personal favourite.
FF10 - Seemed to go on forever.
FF12 - I put the characters on auto pilot and pointed them in the right direction, extremely boring.

As for FF13 I don't think I'll be returning to the series.

Think of a console as choosing a team. You cheer it on and boo the others. Its been like this since Nintendo and Sega. Still confusing?

Well stop being so wordly and think of fanboys as nationalist (I guess in this game, console-ist?) Have some Playstation pride!

I have nothing against XBOX 360 per-say. Rather, because i am a supreme Apple DIEHARD!!! I hate microsoft (satan  ), and therefore, my hate for microsoft (satan  ) leads me to hate 360. ALthough i do believe that 360 is an extremely inferior piece of technology. I got nothing against the wii.
(Although i guess many would consider me a PS3 "fanboy" but i prefer the term, fanatic. )

And i will return to the series for FF13, just because of how beautifull the teasers i have seen are. and after taking so long, i think it will HAVE to be good. Lets hope so.

I wouldn't say I'm worldly so much as practical. Getting emotionally attached to video games or consoles... no, I'm not confused by it, I guess, it's human nature to get attached. I just think it's silly really. Not intending to insult people here who do that... like I said, it's human nature, I do it too, just not with my gaming hobby. I play for fun, not gonna limit my options if I can help it.

I don't cheer teams either... (nationalism is different, less arbitrary, but I won't start a long discussion about that, I don't want it anyway heh).

...really can't wait for FFXIII!!

Hmm looking forward to FFXIII , ok ok it is not exclusive but for me having all three consoles not really fussed as long as I get all the top games. But more on the topic I personally perfer the dark themed FF XIII versus, now that's one reason to have PS3 .2008-10-26 23:09:00

ahhhh yes... back to the point From the trailers that have been released, i cannot wait. If the game is anywhere near as amazing as the videos, this game will be the greatest game ever. Lets hope that they make it so beautiful and flawless.

But aside from the pretty "bells and whistles" the Final Fantasy series is known for their great story lines, with great character develpment and what-not. I hope this game is no exception. (and i dont think it will be)

I have also heard that there will be different versions such as versus. What is the difference... appartenly (from what i just read from you) it is darker.

I think XIII Versus is an action game, set in the same universe as XIII so I'll buy it just for that. >_> (well, unless it's really bad...)2008-10-26 23:22:00

wow... I was just looking at stuff about dissidia, and i can see why you would be excited. It brings back the best characters good/bad from each of the FF games. that is SO cool.

I hope they make it for a system beside the PSP as well.

I loved Final Fantasy VII. I LOVE Midgar. I loved getting OUT of Midgar and realizing, holy crap, this is a Final Fantasy game, there's an entire world out there to explore.

8 was questionable. It took some of that new sci-fi, pop-Japan style that was introduced a little bit in 7, and then carried it really far. Had a hard time.
9 was a great nostalgic romp with a story that started really strong and kind of, for me, went downhill as the hours progressed.

The rest I played (well, not 11), but aren't really on my radar. 12 was quite cool, but didn't get me quite like the old ones.

Now 6. 6.
I'll say 3, because I always played it on the SNES as Final Fantasy III. A 2-way tie for my favorite game of all time, with Ocarina of Time.

How the hell is this game so spectacularly incredible in every conceivable way. How, and why isn't the current generation of consoles exploring this kind of world. I LOVE FF3. DEEPLY.

FF13 is such a sci-fi J-Pop spectacle... I just, I don't care. I want to. I want Coccoon to be Midgar and Pulse to be the world outside. What a great feeling that was in 7, to break through that wall and see the world. I'm hoping they create that feeling again. I hope the game is half as engaging as even 12, but I'm not holding out hopes for a whole lot. I hate this style the last several games have had.

I want my 3 (6) back.
*heeeaaaving sigh*

FF8 and FF2(or maybe it was 3...the one where you go to the moon) are the only two
I play a lot. I tried FF7 and FF9 but never got very far. Honestly I can't wait to get back into a good RPG and I hope FF13 will do it for me.

Loved 7, 9, and 10. Makes me sad how 9 doesn't get much plastic loving (action figures). It's always FF7 this, FF7 that. I also liked 8, though I thought it had rather slow animation/battle/guardian force sequences. I liked 12 for Fran, Ashe, and Basch. 2009-02-09 18:36:00

I don't care what anyone says, I've always loved this series and I'm looking for to it.
Especially because of SEs latest releases of games with heavy mediocrity like Infinite Undiscovery and The Last Remnant.

I'M CAPTAIN BASCH FROM DALMASCA

So, while it was alright, I'm not really a fan of FF7. It isn't a bad game, but I think it gets too much attention.
I much prefer FFX, it had a neat battle system (Though this really depends on what battle system you like. Some'll prefer Real-time), awesome music, the sphere grid, Blitzball, and Wakka.
FFXII was good, the battle system was really awesome, but the storyline really drove me to boredom. Never finished it.

Anyway, I'm not fussed that they're delaying XIII, it only means they're either making it better or fixing bugs.
...Or are they removing offensive music someone has reported???

haha, good one. I dont really mind that they delay it. We have waited this long, we can wait a little while longer. Versus is a PS3 exclusive, but i am still disapointed that the whole franshise is going to the 360. Sure more people will be happy, but exclusives are the only thing keeping the videogame industry an industry. But the playstation systems have been so based off of the early success of a few key franshises, Final fantasy's included. It just saddens me to see such a great Playstation legacy go over to...the dark side:eek::eek:

im more intrested in FFVxIII then FFxII i prefer the sword styles than the guns.
and if you watch the trailers it looks very good - compared to there newest ones.

BUT in all honesty i still find FFIX(9) the best... 4 discs of madness and FF have always been the best PS1 games there were. i miss the original turn based FF games
