that glitch works with anything placed/not-placed from an emitter, I believe. also, I dont think anything placed that way can be deleted or touched ever again. so be careful testing it out. | 2010-09-24 16:34:00 Author: EinRobot ![]() Posts: 739 |

hey guys me and creator b messed with the glitch finding out if you do it with a peice of any meterial with an emitter the emmited object is thermo less. you can usually get 4 thermos off it without mess up too very reliable. and yes b made this glitch and posted level first, semi different name but... yeah | 2010-10-05 03:21:00 Author: dragonights ![]() Posts: 209 |

WOW, I have to try that! will it make a peice of invisible material only slightly visible again? soooo many questions | 2010-10-09 14:29:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Why is it called "Chrome?" It looks more transparent to me. | 2010-12-17 21:07:00 Author: Twilightoutcast ![]() Posts: 80 |
From what I remember, the very first level with the chrome glitch used it to put ...something glass-ish... in the 3D front layers that made everything seen through it look like it was made of chrome. At least it makes more sense than the Cow Glitch... | 2010-12-17 21:17:00 Author: Blue Helmet ![]() Posts: 306 |

It's what you put on your hot pink Cadillac. Sorry! MY hot pink Cadillac. ^^ It's a really shiny metal material, looks really cool, but you get it as a none glitch material in LBP2 But in LBP it's a glitch that transforms practically anything into a transparent, cool looking, less thermo place taking up, non tweakable version of that thing... I think. | 2010-12-31 23:54:00 Author: malyatrax ![]() Posts: 130 |

oh so if i place an object this way i can never EVER delete it? (deleting lvl doesnt work?) | 2011-01-28 06:17:00 Author: silversade ![]() Posts: 15 |
Lol. I taught you this, but you promised not to tell. Know your taking credit for it. | 2011-01-28 07:38:00 Author: Echo_Flex ![]() Posts: 6 |
...I don't think anyone can really "take credit" for a glitch; even if anyone should, it would be the programmer who accidentally put it in the game. | 2011-01-28 20:28:00 Author: Blue Helmet ![]() Posts: 306 |
yea but u can take credit for finding the glitch, however how do u no ur the first to find it? some may not publish it at all and i thank that it wasnt one of those glitches that people find only for themselves :] thanks for the tut | 2011-01-30 00:13:00 Author: silversade ![]() Posts: 15 |
Basically, I had a problem with this user. But before I can tell you that, I have to tell you this. My friend called stoopid Monkey, found the chrome glitch level made by Creator_B, and really wanted to find out how it works. After a while, we found out the method and made each other a promise not to tell anyone. At that time, I had added a friend called kier4n4. He was really cheesing me off, he kept asking so many questions, I told him he said enough, but he kept on asking. Then, when he saw stoopids moon level with loads of chrome glitch objects in. He kept asking "how?" He later joined me when I was adding some chrome items into my levels. He asked again and again for 20 minutes, so I lost hope. I said to him, promise me you won't tell anyone, even yourself. He said 'Ok or Yes' I then taught him the method. He was filled with joy. I felt pretty happy I made someone's day. After that though, he kept messing around with my logic to wind me up, and I got mad at him. After a while he just shifted a dissolve piece, and then I was like 'KIER!!!!!!!' Stoopid told me to remove him, so I did. But during this time I had recently joined this forum. I looked on the recent posts and saw it saying very rare chrome glitch, by 'kier'. He had betrayed his promise. | 2011-03-14 08:39:00 Author: Echo_Flex ![]() Posts: 6 |
Has this been patched? I can't seem to get it to work. EDIT: I can confirm that this does indeed still work after the 1.02 update using the controller reassignment method. I actually discovered this glitch a few weeks ago with my friend playing online but couldn't figure out how to recreate it. She was placing a Sackbot, and before she could place it the game diverged and this exact glitch happened. Up until now I really had no idea what it was so I just saved the level with the glitched Sackbot to my moon for future reference. Guess I can delete that now. Kudos! ^_^ EDIT 2: http://lbp.me/v/y1j50v | 2011-03-18 03:04:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |

Done: Working on wirelessly controlinating the Sackbot. http://i3.lbp.me/img/ft/d2302ad071d87100ed2da38c7732367221cda788.jpg Side by side comparison: http://ic.lbp.me/img/ft/81ca8ed8391d4905aa8689b555d8f583b4305832.jpg For more, please see my level in my previous post. Working on wirelessly controlinating the Sackbot. Sadly, I don't think that's possible. Chrome glitched sackbots (and by extension, ghost glitched sackpeople) are basically paralyzed in LBP2, meaning you cannot control their movement, and they will just fall helplessly through the floor and break. | 2011-03-30 20:36:00 Author: Blue Helmet ![]() Posts: 306 |

Chrome glitched sackbots (and by extension, ghost glitched sackpeople) are basically paralyzed in LBP2, meaning you cannot control their movement, and they will just fall helplessly through the floor and break. No, you can make them have gravity apply. That's what the string is for. However they can't use jetpacks so antigravity tweakers and controlinated movers would be required. | 2011-03-30 20:55:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
That's not what I meant. I know that it's possible to make them subject to gravity. What I meant was that they cannot grab things or alter their falling trajectory (without using things like movers), which ghost glitched sackpeople in LBP1 could do. | 2011-03-30 21:04:00 Author: Blue Helmet ![]() Posts: 306 |

Well maybe if MM would get on jetpacks with Sackbots this wouldn't be a problem. ![]() | 2011-03-30 21:10:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Discovered another sub glitch this morning. By un-chrome glitching the Sackbot with the string technique, it removes some object attachment limitations from the Sackbot, allowing you to place things like microchips directly on its body instead of its circuitboard. For chrome glitched controlination, this will be especially useful, as microchips can be accessed and used while chrome glitched by pressing R1 over their outputs, which of course eliminates the constant need for wireless connections. After a few minutes of testing I determined that the attached microchip was indeed able to override the behavior chip built in to the Sackbot. An interesting note though, is that the resulting microchip is incredibly broken graphically and in some cases physically. Though it functions without issue, the chip automatically migrates to the Sackbot's left foot when placed, and somehow rotates both physically and graphically 90 degrees into the foreground layer. To remove it, makes it unplaceable, and the controls change according to its new angle, up and down move it in and out of the background or foreground, left and right move it up and down. http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/484/38817095.png http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/5799/34308222.png My apologies for the quality. I have an inferior capture card which I had to use since for some reason the chip is invisible to the LBP camera. ![]() | 2011-03-31 13:29:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
There is also the mirror glitch with the chrome, they day it came out I discovered that when stretched a LOT of times it turns into a mirror like material hence why I named it the mirror glitch. It is really nice looking for mirrors in bathrooms and what not. :3 | 2011-06-04 22:26:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Why is it called the "chrome" glitch? Doesnt "Ghost" glitch seem more fitting as things have a ghostly apperance. | 2011-06-23 12:44:00 Author: artise ![]() Posts: 353 |
Why is it called the "chrome" glitch? Doesnt "Ghost" glitch seem more fitting as things have a ghostly apperance. Because many people are inept at aptly naming glitches. Spawn-Pop-Cancer Glitch, 3D glitch (they don't know what extra layers are as opposed to 3D), and almost every other glitch out there have ridiculous names. That along with people naming them after themselves, as if they are Tesla or someone else famous who was worthy of having something world changing named after them. ![]() The chrome glitch when applied to one of the materials and placed in the front layer did give your entire level a slightly shiny appearance in LBP, but truthfully the glitch's true potential was completely missed by many using it at that point in time. If anything, the original chrome glitch would have been more aptly named "Hologram" or "Ghost" glitch as you suggest. ![]() | 2011-06-23 23:49:00 Author: Rustbukkit ![]() Posts: 1737 |
