Im aware that your first response would be to think "whats not straightforward about voice recording!" But me had an idea. can some hardware nerds help me out here? isnt there something I could use that would be taken/sent as microphone input/output, but acctualy be nothing more then a pre-loaded soundboard? (ps3/other devices treat their input as they would a microphone, but the device is directly sending sound file-data) would let us flawlessly upload sound files...

I'm not completely sure what you're saying, but I think it would be possible to modify a PSEye to have a microphone jack. You might lose functionality of using it's own microphone, depending on how you modify it, but then you could easily hook it up to your computer, mp3 player, etc to record record directly that way instead of having a speaker up to the Eye. Of course I have no idea how to do that. I really doubt MM will let us import our own sounds unless it's going through the PSEye. I mean they still won't let us import our own pictures. I'm thinking Sony is making them do this just to sell the Eye. Correct me if I'm wrong.

However, publishing levels with this would be violating both copywright laws, and therefore the EULA, and would be subject to moderation. Best to get a hold of the sheet music and transcribe it to the sequencer.

do we have to use the PSEye microphone? there's much better USB mics available. as for copywright issues; we should be allowed to use recordings that are classed as 'public domain'. that means anyone can use them, because the copywright ran out.

USB mics won save the day if they use same codec as they now use with voice communication that currently is same crap as LBP1
