Keep in mind many of the things you will read in this post are unconfirmed Brendal100 has informed me that while messing around with a few glitches, he discovered that a certain object corrupts profiles. For now, I have termed it the lacunar glitch, as it only corrupts a single part of your profile, much like lacunar amnesia makes you 'forget' a single specific event. In this case, it completely deletes your story data, but everything else will stay intact. But apparently, a more corrupt form of the glitch gets rid of your profile completely or gives your PS3 YLOD. I have not heard of anyone effected by the last two. The one that deletes your story mode data, on the other hand, i've experienced personally. After completeing the level Sky Factory 2 with a friend of mine, I immediatly recieved a black screen and was booted to the XMB. Upon starting up LBP, I was forced into the Introduction level. All of my story mode data was gone, but my costumes, moon levels, stickers, etc were all there. (This was over a month ago, before he even knew of this item) My friend Kulman557 has also experienced this glitch while we were playing the 2nd level of the Marvel pack. I am unsure of how the corruption spreads, or even if this is all true, but for now, just be a bit cautious.

Don't play any sketchy levels, don't play with anyone you don't really know in create mode, don't accept items from anyone you don't know, etc.

This glitch has hit 3 of my friends... 3 too many aand do exactly what he says if this glitch happens you will tell. If somone has placed it you might freeze for a few seconds. Some of my friends due to what i have herd. The one that got the profile deleted froze completely and couldnt do anything. The story mode thing is when it is placed in a level It might happen if you are with somone else and the ps3 broken thing i havnt gotten much information (Other then he unplugged his ps3 while frozen) I must tell all of you this was an accident... Uhh backing up profile... yes with the story data thing... not sure with the no profile how you can acess the start menu... hmm good question and the broken ps3 no you cant...

This seems more like its random corruption than object/ level based corruption glitch or anything of the sort, if it was that, anyone who played those levels would get corrupted. Do keep in mind that while playing online, there's a small chance that profiles may get mixed up and save datas switched or nboth be corrupted in certain areas. This is actually a very common glitch in Demon's Souls, where one pkayer did something that the other hadn't, when each player returned the roles reversed and the one who did it hadn't been saved as he did, and the one who didn't was saved as if he did. So this is more on the random cause atm since there seems to be no common pattern for now.

Then that says nothing m8, keep in mind a on of people play many levels. How do you know it wasn't from any other level too and your effect was delayed as well, making it seem like it was THOSE level's/ item's faul, when it really wasn't? Also: But apparently, a more corrupt form of the glitch gets rid of your profile completely or gives your PS3 YLOD Corruption of profiles near a YLoD aren't uncommon at all, and happens quite often, and YLoD canot be caused by an in-game intended glitch. MAYBE the most likely answer is that it froze, and the freezing itself, not whatever was behind it, is what cause the YLoD. My friend Kulman557 has also experienced this glitch while we were playing the 2nd level of the Marvel pack. Trust me, if that level was the cause, you'd hear thousands complaining, the fact that level has been played who knows how many times, and multyple times by many people with no one talking about it or such glitch being reported before, proves its most unlikely to be the cause, which raises my theory of it being online-play related as you only now of people reporting this bug "after playing with a friend," thus seems to be more connected to online problems than to the level/ objetcs.

I have something that you may find interesting. I had bought the game, and I played through story mode. I had just returned to my pod after defeating the collector. (and acing first try! ) Suddenly, the music that plays when youron the my news planet started skipping over and over. ( I was viewing my friends list at the time from in game) I quickly got off my controller, thinking that it would stop, but it didnt, The music kept playing for another 5 seconds before it went off and I could hear the slight whurring noise from the empty pod. at the moment, I got off my PS3 and went to bed. The next day I botted up LBP and my file was corrupted. NOTHING saved. Nothing was there, all progress was lost. I started again, got to the collector boss, beat it, and went to my pod once again. (this is now another 4 weeks/a month later) I turned off my ps3 after going into create mode for ahwile, and when I came online again in the morning, Yup! You guessed it! Corrupted. I completed story mode again, and at the exact same part of my progress in story mode, I lost my save file! After that happened the third time, I traded my old disc in for a new one (oddly, they accepted the disc because of its warranty!) And I never had the problem again. Could this have been the bug you have been talking about? I hope this helps explain what your trying to say.

It may just be a random thing with that story mode thing but the YLOD and broken profiles have to do with this object ... i dont want to say what the object really is figuring i dobt its possible to patch but once it gets released what it is youll know why it does that... its defenantly "The cube" xD it is literally a small little cube with a huge ability

I need to find out more... This is a dangerous glitch I should had tested it on myself before anything else... its spreading like crazy many people have gotton ahold of my email and went through there the YLOD is critical... The data getting corrupted isnt as bad youll need to go to save data utility and delete all lbp things and the stary isnt bad at all compared to the others... back up your profiles make sure to play safe levels only go in build mode with people you TRUST they might have it... its a really complex glitch... a bad one real bad
