First of all, welcome to LBP Central.

Quick summary of our forum. If you take a peek at the forum view by clicking on the Forum selection above, the site is broken into sections. Each section represents several forums within it, all named accordingly. So for example, this section is Introductions and the forum within is Introduce Yourselves. We also have a section representing each of the different LBP offerings all the way back to LBP 1 as well as other Sections devoted to Site Stuff, LBP General, and General Stuff. So feel free to explore and roam around to your heart's content. You will find help forums for each version as well as tutorials. Plus our world famous Level Showcase where the cream of the crop find their way into the LBPC Community Spotlight spanning 6 years of incredible levels in a bi-weekly celebration of excellence from our members.

Here's a few tips to help you get started:-

First.. please make a new thread and introduce yourself in this forum!! Doesn't have to be a long drawn out intro, but just a bit about yourself, what you like about LBP. This way we can welcome you and help answer anything you find confusing about our forum.

1. Thread Subscriptions

You may initially find the vast number of forums and threads a little overwhelming, so in order to help keep track of your favorite threads, you might find it useful to use the thread subscription feature. You can subscribe to as many threads as you like, and whenever a new post is made to one of those threads, you'll be notified via your user control panel (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/usercp.php) (accessible by clicking the "Settings" option at the top of every page), or if you prefer, you can additionally receive notifications via email.

When you're viewing a thread you'd like to subscribe to, click the "Thread Tools" dropdown at the top of the page and choose the "Subscribe to this Thread..." option. On the following page, you'll have the option of how you'd like to be notifed, as described in the previous paragraph.

Additionally, you may find the auto-subscribe feature useful. This means, whenever you start a new thread, or make a post on an existing thread, that thread will be automatically be added to your list of subscribed threads. To enable this, go to your General Settings (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions) page, scroll down the option "Default Thread Subscription Mode", and choose one of the notification options from the dropdown there.

Once you receive a notification, all you need do is click the http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/LBPC-Style/buttons/firstnew.png icon to the left of the thread title in you user control panel, and you'll instantly jump to the first unread post in that thread.

2. "Thanks" and Reputation

If you come across a post which you find particularly helpful, you may wish to express your gratitude to the user who posted it. However, rather than going to the effort of writing a new post just to say "thanks", there's a button at the bottom of every post with the icon http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/LBPC-Style/buttons/post_thanks.png, to the left of the word "Thanks". If you click this button, your username will be added to the list of posters below the post who found that post useful.

Additionally, it will increase the reputation score of the poster. A user's reputation level is indicated by a number of green rep gems like this http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/LBPC-Style/reputation/reputation_pos.png
http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/LBPC-Style/reputation/reputation_pos.png
http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/LBPC-Style/reputation/reputation_pos.png just below their avatar in every post they make. Similarly, if someone else "thanks" one of your posts, you will be notifed in your user control panel.

3. What's New

Another great way to check up on active threads is using the New Posts (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/search.php?do=getnew&contenttype=vBForum_Post) feature. These will list all recent posts to threads and is generally a good way to find random topics across all sub-forums. The posts will be listed in the order they were posted, with the most recent replies found at the top. Be sure to check it out!

Lastly, as a friendly reminder, be sure check out the LBPC Rules (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=21530-Rules-Consequences)! It is not uncommon that we tend to forgo such a formality, but it's worth knowing what is considered acceptable and what is not before posting.

thnx but how do i post a thread cuz i really wanna also check out my level how to make a menu

Simple to post a new thread. You just have to be at the forum level, not in a thread. For example.. to post a thread in the Level Showcase forum go here http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?40-Level-Showcase

In the upper left corner you will see Post New Level and Post New F4F level. Those are the same as the Post New Thread button in the other forums. Speaking of the F4F system (Feedback for Feedback), there is a sticky in the Level Showcase that explains how that works.
