These are the New Materials available in the Beta (More to be added). Many of these materials are obtained by capturing materials in the tutorials, and by using the "god-glitch". Nice! Chrome actually makes Brushed Steel from the Incredibles pack look ugly. Btw - you might want to change the order you list the materials to left to right for all of them. Working out the clokwise order got a bit confusing | 2010-09-22 00:29:00 Author: Nuclearfish Posts: 927 |

The metal cage material. Want? NEED! Finally we can make proper fences! One annoying thing about that material you can't see in Rhys' picture is the border on the edge is only on the front of the material. It's fine for thin stuff but can look a bit weird if it's thick. But that can easily be worked around depending on how you use it. | 2010-09-22 00:52:00 Author: Nuclearfish Posts: 927 |

Actually, from my knowledge It shows on the side when its thick.. theres some on the right side of gevurah's streetfighter level as a fence.... or am i mistaken? | 2010-09-22 01:23:00 Author: Fishrock123 Posts: 1578 |

Some guy found out a way to get a few materials that Im pretty sure you cant get regularily from the BETA. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RbLNNo8HNA&feature=related Im pretty sure he favourited the capture tool and captured them in the tutorials. | 2010-09-24 02:06:00 Author: grayspence Posts: 1990 |

Ten of these are obtained by capturing materials in the tutorials, and the other 25 are collected in the 3 main story levels. The names of the materials obtained from the tutorials are unknown so I have guessed their names in red. Thanks Gray, but they are already in the first post. | 2010-09-24 10:38:00 Author: Rhys125 Posts: 841 |

Noob question. All the materials from LBP1 are also usable (or will be in the final game) right? And you forgot Light Matter. Also, I've been taking pics of materials and slapping that pic on dark matter to help disguise it. Only kind of works. Could someone take a pic of a material, slap it on light matter and take a pic of stickered light matter and the origonal material side by side? | 2010-09-24 15:31:00 Author: Biv Posts: 734 |

I have extra materials that aren't on that list. Some guy at the beta forums found a bug which let him use the create tools anywhere, including his pod and inside the story levels. He published a level last night, giving away a load of stuff that's not supposed to be available yet, including a working in-out mover, 3 new materials, all the story level character costumes, the pod controller as a decoration, and more. Mm had locked the level down when I checked this morning and have asked the guy not to give this stuff away, but luckily I got in there and grabbed all the goodies last night before it got locked. Here are the 3 new materials... Unidentified metal http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/469/aphoto15f.jpg Unidentified glass http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/6972/aphoto14g.jpg Unidentified sponge http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/2019/aphoto13.jpg I also ripped a new type of metal out of one of the arcade machines, but it's currently non editable and not much use... http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/6774/aphoto16.jpg | 2010-09-24 16:38:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |

Aww I wish I could've got these materials... They are awesome! Thanks, Ungreth! Mind if I add them to the first post? Of course you can. Also, if you want the materials then I can send 'em to you, but you would need to add me to your friends list in the beta. | 2010-09-24 17:18:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |

The working in-out mover is interesting, is it the exact same tool? (same option, etc?) is the animation any different from the follower thing? /semi-off-topic. | 2010-09-24 20:04:00 Author: Fishrock123 Posts: 1578 |
I wonder why they don't give out the mover tool. How are we to experiment with it if it's not even available? Did you get new music? :O | 2010-09-24 20:18:00 Author: Cheezy WEAPON Posts: 283 |
nice this is much better, i think that materials work better if the simpler, complex patterns on materials really limit their usage, but the simplistic nature of these are really cool. | 2010-09-24 22:20:00 Author: Spyre-wolf Posts: 63 |
Aww... 14 materials less for us non-Betorz... From the looks of it, I'd call "Blackboard" as "Chalkboard"... but that's just me. I really liek the OMG H4X0R sponge that Ungreth posted. | 2010-09-25 07:49:00 Author: Unknown User |
Yeah, I got most of these myself. @Ungreth: That last material (black and covered in gubbins) looks to be stickered black. If memory serves me correct all the objects that material is covered in are of their natural colour. Try deleting the stickers and give it another go!! | 2010-09-25 10:11:00 Author: croissantbuncake Posts: 572 |
I'm not sure if you can actually collect this material in the beta, but there is definitley a "Tire Tread-like" material. :S | 2010-09-25 23:07:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
Hey guys! This question may have been answered before, but can you import old materials and objects into the new game? Thank you very much! And also thanks for the materials, I really like the chalkboard one | 2010-09-25 23:11:00 Author: psman012 Posts: 106 |

I've added more Materials to the first page. I'll be adding the Decorations and Objects soon. Did they add these materials throught the patch? And btw: http://i890.photobucket.com/albums/ac102/Rhys125/APhoto_58.jpg (http://i890.photobucket.com/albums/ac102/Rhys125/APhoto_58.jpg) BUBBLE WRAP! (does it make a "popping" sound when you walk over it?) | 2010-10-01 20:13:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |
Did they add these materials throught the patch? And btw: BUBBLE WRAP! (does it make a "popping" sound when you walk over it?) AFAIK, The cow glitch was obtained by capturing it in the tutorials and the bubblewrap was obtained by using the "god glitch". They were both obtainable before the patch. Unfortunately, the bubblewrap material doesn't make a popping sound, but you could probably simulate it somehow. | 2010-10-01 20:23:00 Author: Rhys125 Posts: 841 |

Nope none of them is animated to blink. However the meanie parts do have a very nice animated texture (looks like fizzy/bubbly purple jelly). | 2010-10-07 21:08:00 Author: croissantbuncake Posts: 572 |

I find it really weird that "rock cake" is under the wood category. I would definitely assume it would be under sponge or rock... Simple math: rock-sponge=wood. (by mass/weight/strength.) | 2010-10-08 02:23:00 Author: Fishrock123 Posts: 1578 |
Simple math: rock-sponge=wood. (by mass/weight/strength.) And here I thought 2+2=4 was simple... no wonder I failed math so many times throughout high school. (just kidding buddy) [QUOTE=Rhys125;629201] http://i890.photobucket.com/albums/ac102/Rhys125/APhoto_68.jpg Uhmmm... where's the rest of the jukebox? Did your pic get cut off, or did they actually only give half of a juke box? I can't really tell from the pic... is it maybe one of those table top juke box systems we used to see in diners at each table maybe? | 2010-10-08 05:55:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |
Yep the jukebox is only that big, so it probably is one of those table ones. If it were any larger it would probably have to go into objects, and besides, since it's a realistic item, a realistically scaled jukebox would be large than any other object we have access to. | 2010-10-08 08:12:00 Author: croissantbuncake Posts: 572 |
Very awesome! These materials/decorations look immensly useful. I hope the ones found with god-glitch are avaliabe in the full game. | 2010-10-08 08:24:00 Author: Matimoo Posts: 1027 |

I can't really tell from the pic... is it maybe one of those table top juke box systems we used to see in diners at each table maybe? Yeah, what croissantbuncake said. Also, when you place it, the top of the jukebox faces out. In order for the front of the jukebox to be seen, you have to place it on the top face of the material (Which explains the tiny, triangular piece of thick hologram material). | 2010-10-08 13:39:00 Author: Rhys125 Posts: 841 |

What's that laser looking light?! | 2010-10-09 22:52:00 Author: Fishrock123 Posts: 1578 |
What's that laser looking light?! Yep, that is a laser. I don't think it's working properly at the moment though. Currently, it acts like a normal LED. Changing the colour of the light has no effect on the colour of the laser (It stays white). In the picture, the laser is set to a shade of purple, but there is only a purple haze around the main part. I'll add descriptions to the objects tomorrow; it's getting late. | 2010-10-09 22:58:00 Author: Rhys125 Posts: 841 |

Out of interest do the objects still only scale by X and Y axis and not Z, if you know what I mean IE stay in their layer so from an angle they looks oddly stretched? | 2010-10-13 12:23:00 Author: RAWTalent Posts: 224 |
Out of interest do the objects still only scale by X and Y axis and not Z, if you know what I mean IE stay in their layer so from an angle they looks oddly stretched? It's still the same, unfortunately. If an object is only 1 layer, then you can't make it 2 or 3 layers. Edit: Yay! It's been stickified! | 2010-10-13 17:31:00 Author: Rhys125 Posts: 841 |
****, still I'm sure with the improved camera functionality, hiding these type of "stretching" bugs are easier | 2010-10-14 12:19:00 Author: RAWTalent Posts: 224 |
I'll be adding stickers to the OP tonight; there's a hell of a lot! That ability to collapse folders of stickers couldn't have come at a better time! | 2010-10-20 12:15:00 Author: Rhys125 Posts: 841 |
An interesting point is that the decoration you have labelled as metal pod (second last in decorations) is unique in that it is the first decoration that responds to player colour!! Also, there are two more lights that can be extracted from tutorials and god glitch items. There is a smooth thin layer lamp available in the tutorials and a LED (light object that behaves as a piece of logic and can therefore be placed on a microchip!!) can be obtained from the arcade machines in "Lift Off" (warning: LEDs are very buggy, the first time I isolated one the system crashed, in another instance it suddenly ceased to glow, even on foggy, and it once "stained" itself into the game in the sense that the fog glow produced by it returned with me to the pod!!). | 2010-10-21 01:42:00 Author: croissantbuncake Posts: 572 |

Some observations on the "rock cake" material: I noticed that it makes the same sounds as a "sponge" material, and it's the same shape as most of the sponges. However, it's the same weight as wood and it's not grabbable in it's default state. I wouldn't be surprised if "rock cake" is moved from the "wood" section to the "sponge" section in the full game. Just added the Sticker section to the OP. There are 11 new photos and at least 100 new stickers in total! | 2010-10-22 00:01:00 Author: Rhys125 Posts: 841 |
I'm looking for the 3D sacbot decoration pieces. When I had the first (and wrong) version of the beta, I could see them in two places on the level where you have to save the sackbots, but in the patched version they are replaced by a drawing of a sackbot. Is there any way to get these back again or are they hidden in the levels somewhere I'm not seeing? I really need them for this level I'm working on before the beta ends. | 2010-10-22 21:25:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |

I don't think you can get them in "pipe dreams" anymore. Though, this level is giving the decorations away http://beta.lbp.me/v/x9x4. | 2010-10-22 21:31:00 Author: Alec Posts: 3871 |
I can't wait to build with these materials when the game comes out. One question though: What exactly are the last two balls? I can tell the first one is a rubber band ball but other than that, I'm lost. | 2010-12-12 01:36:00 Author: TREMIC1 Posts: 263 |

I can tell the first one is a rubber band ball but other than that, I'm lost. The second ball is a metal one like from a pinball machine, and the third ball is just a soft spongy ball. | 2010-12-12 12:52:00 Author: Rhys125 Posts: 841 |
