Sackbots questions (and a lil side thing of sorry)

How complex will sackbots be? I think its maybe the best thing they could add as a new tool. I'd like to see if they could do tests on levels for us, or even interact like real people without the programming.

Side note. Off topic.

Well, at their core, sackbots are very dumb. They can only run and flee from stuff. But you can switch between animations and behaviors on the fly, so if you are systematic enough, you can make their actions convincing enough. As for complex AI, I'm not sure.

I think that is a question for Rich, as he (if I recall correctly) has some sort of background in artificial intelligence per his Masters thesis.

In addition to what shadowriver says, you can also completely bypass the sackbot behaviours, and gain complete, realtime control over sackbots using a custom AI, completely built out of logic - no default behaviours, no recorded behaviours, just pure, custom AI.

Which essentially means that no matter what the limitations on intelligence that is directly supported, there is essentially no upper limit, other than the abilities of the creator do design intelligence systems. Scope is actually unbelievable.
