Outrage in the Outback! **SPOTLIGHTED**
Archive: 16 posts
Outrage in the Outback!Pete1991 Something is going on in the outback which has one large individual scared or confused, or even both, we can't really tell. Ok here is my second level I have made, and I must say I am proud of it, even if it is quite short. This originally started out as my 3 hour project which some of you may have seen in the Ideas/Projects area of this forum. Due to British rail being unable to keep a train on time, I was only able to do a small amount of work to it, so when I got home I sat down and really finished it off properly and gave it alot of polishing. The level is quite straight forward and the story will be eventually continued, but I think you will like it, and I say myself that I am quite pleased with some of the aesthetics. Let me know what you think, constructive feedback preferred. (For those who have played Taffey's Space Corps trilogy, you will enjoy where this level is going (I hope)) I just had a quick playthrough of it myself and relised I forgot to put in a few checkpoints towards the end of the level, but I don't feel it massively detracts from the level. I will add them in nd re-publish when I manage to connect to the server again, I see to be locked out at the moment | 2010-09-21 16:30:00 Author: Pete1991 Posts: 225 |
Sorry for the double post but I took a few screenshots of the level, I took them with my camera in the best possible lighting, but they're still a tad blurry. Hopefully these will give you an idea of what to expect in the level! http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/3294/sam0514g.jpg The Rockpool http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/4384/sam0515.jpg Cheify! http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/80/sam0516k.jpg This place seems familiar? | 2010-09-21 23:11:00 Author: Pete1991 Posts: 225 |

Ok,here I gooooo!!! Hmmm...I really liked your sticker work...IT LOOKED GREAT!!!but when I entered the space corps section sticker work felt odd in some areas. Gameplay was simplae and I had fun playing it,but the spiders kinda united when I was swinging and it caused pure chaos!!! Oh and when I put the hexagon sponge in place I couldn't get the bubbles that fall off...my preciiooouuss. One more thing! (Jackie chan adventures style) I died in the space corps and noticed the last checkpoint was so fffaaaarrr away (Dragonforce style) I had to go through the spider chaos again. You used soundFX nicely...I dig in the sound. The cracking effect was cool and the way you used the monster eyes too. I gave you :star::star::star::star: it was a good level. | 2010-09-22 04:19:00 Author: Balgarino Posts: 377 |
One more thing! (Jackie chan adventures style) I died in the space corps and noticed the last checkpoint was so fffaaaarrr away (Dragonforce style) I had to go through the spider chaos again. Yeah I tested the level extensively, but didn't die because I knew what was coming up, so didn't recognise that I forgot to throw around a few checkpoints. I plan on sorting that when my psp decides it wants to hurry up and recharge The level has now been republished with the checkpoints added in convenient areas | 2010-09-22 12:32:00 Author: Pete1991 Posts: 225 |
Hello Pete!! I don't believe you and I have ever spoke before. I have seen you around here forever but our paths have never crossed. Until now. I was excited to play this. Your screen shots looked impressive, and the description sounded fun. Plus, I had never played a pete1991 level before, so I did not know what to expect. The first thing I noticed when I spawned into your level was how great everything looked. The sticker work was impressive to say the least. You have a great eye for those things. I wish I did. Everything had a really clean, almost sterile look to it, and I liked it, alot. Level design was good too. Both planes were used to there full potential, I was constantly switching back and forth. I'll tell you a secret, you might already know, people like switching back and forth. Even if they don't realize it, it adds much depth to the gameplay. I liked the way the Chief talked. limeys... hahaha. Sound effects were very well used throughout. I really liked the water areas. You might try to use a different way for your waterfalls instead of the gas glitch. I think it looks so much better. Valmassoi has a tutorial level that explains how to make a great looking waterfall if you haven't already checked it out. Platforming segments were pretty good. I loved the spider thingies segment. The SpaceCorps segment was out of no where, but I liked it. Overall you did a great job on this. I can tell you know your way around the editor, because this was a really good level. I gave you five stars and a heart for creator. <3 -VJ | 2010-09-24 03:32:00 Author: VelcroJonze Posts: 1305 |
The SpaceCorps segment was out of no where, but I liked it. I plan on making a new level to follow this up, and it'll all make sense then, trust me | 2010-09-24 13:18:00 Author: Pete1991 Posts: 225 |
Great level Pete! I really laughed at the Space Corps section - very well done. I'm running behind as usual but I'll try to stop by again later and leave you proper feedback... and pictures too. | 2010-09-30 07:19:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |

My gosh, WHERE HAS EVERYBODY GONE?? There's no LBP2 beta going for the PSP, so none of you have excuses in my book. Double post #3! Congratulations on the Spotlight Pete, really well done level here. We loved it! Fun to play, impeccably built, and very entertaining. Great stuff! EDIT: Eep, not a double post! VJ beat me to it. | 2010-10-05 01:33:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
