Nice! These are some awesome looking costumes! Not a fan of the Kanye West-style shades, but that paper bag hat was incredible! Also the moon and sun costumes were more detailed than your typical LBP costumes. Can't wait til I get the beta! So many people are missing out on such great stuff!2010-09-21 05:06:00

Here's some additional info about costume creation.

- You can organise saved costumes into custom categories (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=36283-The-new-costumes-from-the-beta&p=665807&viewfull=1#post665807)!
- You can potentially SHARE costumes.
If you give away a sackbot (with custom costume) as a prize, the reciever can go into the sackot's costume setting and SAVE the costume into his/her poppit. Reciever must have all necessary DLC.
- You can have a maximum of up to 50 stickers AND 50 decorations on one costume (includes skin and costume pieces).
- You can export an even larger photo of your costume. Simply: (make costume, put costume on sackbot, rotate sackbot sideways, take photo, export, copy, rotate image with MS paint, upload)
- While placing a sticker/decoration, you can use R2/L2 to tilt the camera up and down. While it's only a near birds eye view, it is enough to see the top of your sackboy's head clearly, perfect for centering decorations. It doesn't tilt up very far, but makes it easier placing stuff under sackboys arm, chin, etc.
- Animated decorations! You know how the sackbots have those <3<3 eyes? It's actually 2 of the same decoration.
Plus there is a decent (non-animated, well, it waves like a flower) looking fur decoration that comes in black, brown and white.
- Animated skins. The green bubbly flask one, a "cordlass" one (pulsating wave that runs down sackboy showing shiny electronics), and one that looks all shiny chrome like.
You can sticker over them, and they still show the animations. For example you can have that green bubbly one, but black! (looks like oil or Venom from spidey)
Also new standard non-animated skins like a sticking plaster one, and a material looking one that looks like planks of wood are wrapped around him.
- Increased sticker/decoration limit! Not sure on the exact amounts atm, but I'll do some testing.
- Copy decorations/stickers! How often have you resized a decoration perfectly, only to find the other side isn't quite right?
Now you can hover over an already placed decoration, hit L3, and it spawns an exact copy, leaving the original is place.
- The previews of your saved costumes a much bigger! They are now on the first page of the costume section. (Page order goes: costumes>materials/skins>head>body>player colour)
- You can re-order the costume pieces and/or your saved costumes into the following categories:
Newest, Category, Theme, Colour. You can create custom categories too.
- Just like that full screen poppit where it shows a bunch of stickers, you can also do this while browsing your costumes pieces or saved costumes.
Right now, I am browsing my saved costumes in full screen mode, all arranged by colour. Wish I could take a photo..
Colour order is: blue > green > yellow > orange > red > white > grey > black.

As a costume freak and connaiseur, I must admit that I'm a bit disappointed in these. With the amazing DLC Mm have been coming out with lately, these just don't seem to be of the same calibre. The first TV head one is great, as well as the knight... but the rest seem mediochre. However, the animated skins you speak of and the wooden wrap non-animated have me all atwitter! (not twitter like in tweeting)

I'm sure though, that there will be plenty more great costumes in the full game, so I'm still uber-excited to see what we will have access too!		2010-09-21 19:26:00

Actually, ever since LBP1, many costumes, such as the wedding dress, and pretty much any "female shirts" and costume parts would give the sackperson a "female shape."

Female outfits give Sackpeople thinner waist, and the extra-tall hair is most likely why it looks taller, also, note the skirt starts about mid-chest, not at waist/ legs, so it may give the illusion it has longer legs.		2010-09-23 03:10:00

I'm a nub at making my own costumes but I would get annoyed when I would try to place a decoration directly in the center of sackboys face but it gets tilted to either side a tad (unless I"m doing something wrong). Can you things directly in the center now?2010-09-23 03:23:00

Look closer leon. The lbp1 female costumes just gave sackgirls a kind of hourglass figure. The school teacher actually has small breasts visible by the rounded shadows underneath them. I was surprised too to see them, though I wouldn't think it's that big of a deal.

Then again.................. those horn rimmed glasses are really working for her.

Forgot to check this.

Holy space balls!

I managed to add a whopping 50 decorations to the gorilla suit!
The same number applies to the material/skin as well.
50 Decorations is the max for the entire costume. (inc skin and costume pieces)

EDIT:
Note: This seems to be the total amount of decorations on the entire costume.
(ex. You can't have 50 decs on a costume piece AND 50 on the skin)

Checking stickers/dec combos now...

50 .....decos....per costume That's enough to build entire costumes out of decos. I hope it's not a bug and that'll still be the case in the full retail game. I'm gonna' be able to make much more intricate Transformer costumes. And the increased sticker limit is awesome too: my Bumblebee costume really needs one more sticker on his torso but I hit the limit so I couldn't do it. That won't be a problem any more.

All i can say is about TIME! So many costumes i've made could have used just 2/5 more Decos to look right,
Let alone costumes that use Decos for Hair And so many costumes i just could not make at all because they would
need a crazy some of decos, But no more will i have to worry, this fixs everthing but the need to color the Decos.....

Good idea, here's my findings.
While costuming a sackbot, the camera zooms out a little, so it's always fixed. It looks around the same size as a zoomed in sackboy. It does feel a little eaiser to stick stuff on the head, as sackbots dont move via sixaxis as you're moving the controller about, so eaiser for centering.
Note that you cannot rotate a sackbot.

Oh yeah, I forgot a major thing.
You can potentially SHARE costumes.

No such luck. I was hoping for alphabetical sorting, but it's not an option.
If you sort your costumes by "colour", it arranges all your costumes into a rainbow like arangement.
Like this:

All colours are in one section. (no headings separating colours)

I think it's a great way to find a costume you're looking for, I could never find Ratchet in my poppit until now.

First one, and the jet black one (actually the green bubbly skin stickered black) are animated, chrome ones give off a shiny effect, and the rest are normal.

Also, some new hawaiian style flower costume pieces were added when the beta was updated:

eyes: evil eyes (stickering them black makes them red), eyeshadow eyes (colour depends on "player colour"(popit colours))
hair: behive hair (I think this is new, but might be old DLC, beta bug atm)
head: wind up hat, hula flower
moustache: flower moustache (not joking 100% real, lol)
hands: hula wristband

The chrome ones arn't animated per se, it's a bit kinda like the the glowing skeleton skin giving off a special effect, but in this case it's shiny. Think that Incredibles DLC chrome material.


Where are those eyes from?! The angry glowy ones; I've gotten all the new Tower of Whoop prizes and I don't recall seeing them!
I got them from that god glitch prize giveaway level (which has been moderated I think).
Not sure if it's possible to get normally through the beta story levels. It might still be somewhere in a community level somewhere?
I'll send you a sackbot with only the eyes on it for ya, so you can hopefully save from that.

So it turns out you CAN organise your poppit/costumes!

- Press square on costume.
- Select category name (saved costumes are all "my costumes" by default)
- Click "add new category" + type in what ever you want!
You new category appears at the top of you poppit (below "reset costume/etc" and above default "my costumes"). The custom categories are listed in alphabetical order (you can also minimize these categories too). If you want to add another costume to an existing category, you can simply select that category from the list, so you don't need to type it in again.

Just wanted to point out that the V1.02 Update has now negated the 'oh so lovely" effects of the Cordlass skin. It still animates the pulsing light waves, but the beautiful circuit board animations have disappeared. Bummer. 2010-11-25 17:50:00

I think the fish bowl would look better without the cork.

The fishbowl looks kinda... meh. To me, it looks too two dimensional, unlike the rest of the LBP2 costumes I see, the fishbowl seems to lack depth and the texture seems too grainy and uniform... But, that's just my opinion!2010-12-06 02:31:00

Awesome! I always hated how limited costume decorating was. I don't suppose they've fixed it so that paintballs don't unsticker your costume, have they?





Look closer leon. The lbp1 female costumes just gave sackgirls a kind of hourglass figure. The school teacher actually has small breasts visible by the rounded shadows underneath them. I was surprised too to see them, though I wouldn't think it's that big of a deal.

Then again.................. those horn rimmed glasses are really working for her.

There are some awesome ones on the way that I saw at PAX (provided they make the final retail cut) I'm super excited for the animated skins and all the new options for eyes.... even though I'll probably still stick with the Storm eyes. lol

like a fat sack costume or a skinny sack, it would give more variety when creating characters...

it would be better to have a new section in the costumes called "body size" that has all these forms so tha when you wear costumes they would fit to those body types...although time consuming it would benefit
