Marvel VS Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds

Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds is a crossover fighting game in development by Capcom. It will feature Capcom's own characters and characters from American comic book company Marvel Comics.

The game features the same fast-paced, over-the-top fighting mechanics as earlier games in the series, along with new methods of play designed to make the game more accessible to new players. Capcom has promised three-on-three tag team fighting gameplay and a robust plot The game is tentatively set for release for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles during Q1/Q2 2011.

Definitely looking forward to this. I played way too much MVC2 back in the day, and this one is looking to seriously top that.

In terms of main team, I still need to see who all the characters are and how they play. MegaMan was one of my mains way back when, but he changed big time for Tatsunoko vs Capcom, so I'm on the fence about him. Not including old school MegaMan and basing my picks on the gameplay trailers, my main team will be Amaterasu, Morrigan, and Deadpool.

From Marvel, I'd give anything to see Squirrel Girl or any member of The Runaways. From Capcom, old school MegaMan.		2010-09-21 05:13:00

Oh nice to see a MVC3 thread around LBPCentral, my team would be Gouki (Akuma) / Zero and the third character I don't know who I would choose (If only they had brought Kaijin no Soki fro Onimusha Dawn of Dreams / Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, he would be my third character).

I am more concerned on wether I will be able to do the task of beating 320 missions from Mission Mode (Managed to get a similar trophy in BlazBlue Continuum Shift which consists of doing lots of challenges).		2011-02-14 10:32:00

In the event that I would get around to getting this game, I was initially planning my roster include Dante, Zero and X-23. But I'm on the fence as while Dante and Zero are two of my favorite Capcom characters period I kinda feel like I'm a shill playing as a particularly well-known and popular characters. The fact that Zero and X-23's hyper combos are kinda boring looking kinda dissuades me too.

I feel like making a roster made out of really obscure characters; Modok looks kinda fun and he's definately one of the more unique Marvel characters so I might consider him.		2011-02-15 07:05:00

There is a looooooong list of useless lame characters like in Capcom's tradition.

TronBonne, HsienKo, a lot on Marvel's side...
Where's the above mentioned Strider? And Samanosuke? And Regina? And Vergil? And Leon Kennedy that is miles better than Chris Redfield?

I am astonished some of you do not know that Megaman is NOT in the game. Fanboys have been raging over his exclusion for roughly the past 3 months when the full roster was leaked onto the internet...

@Omega - lol, Capcom can was never going to be able to make everyone happy with this game. In a way expectations were too high with a 10 year wait between games. Ultimately though people who like fighting games and are fans of the Capcom/Marvel universe WILL buy the game, regardless of the inclusion/exclusion of any given character. Have you forgotten that our good friend Dante is in the game? Is that not enough?

I should have my copy this weekend, really looking forward to it. I remember skipping class in high school with friends to head down to the arcade and play MvC2 lol. There are so many cool additions to the roster that I will really have to play around with the characters and see who "clicks". So far I am liking X-23, Dante, Arthur (any old-school gamer should get the game just for him lol), Akuma, Ryu, Wesker, Viewtiful Joe and Super-Skrull. Street Fighter will always be the king of fighting games in my book but MvC3 will be a welcome diversion

My copy arrived, played around in practice mode for 30 minutes, do not really like Arthur or X-23 lol. I will need to finish my first LBP2 level though before I can put any serious game time into MvC3.		2011-02-15 10:50:00

I now own the game, although I mostly play offline against CPU oppenents in training mode.

Also apparently, Galactus himself has an ending if you lose to him and not continue. Take a look at this video I found on YouTube.

Dante is pretty dreamy though <3

but man, it's awesome playing as Dante, quick combos everywhere. I've also gotten a max combo of 86 (team attack special thingy), and I was wondering if anyone got anything higher. I did mine with Trish, Zero and Amaterasu.

Also, the move at 0:23ish is my favorite move to use with Dante (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njy-IdJoooY)

Yeah Dante is amazing, by far my favorite addition to the roster and now a permanent member of my squad. He just might be worth the ?70 Omega

Overall though I pretty much suck at this game (for now lol). I was a beast in SSFIV with my Blanka but you really have to re-learn everything in MvC3, it is a very different game.		2011-02-17 07:25:00

Game's currently out in US and Japan. As european guy I gotta wait one more day till release, people! >:o
After watching sweet combo clips, I'm interested picking Spencer, Wolverine and Viewtiful Joe.

Hoping for Frank West as next Capcom DLC character.

So, how are you guys doing in this game? I got my platinum + 360 missions two weeks ago. There are missions which I would never do again, such as Amaterau's mission 7 and 10. The "weapon change -> Sweep -> attack" parts were evil I don't main nor play with Amaterasu anyways =pl. Also I kinda disliked the missions with the partners lol, the timing with some can be really evil. It is funny how,hard as these MVC3 missions may be, they are easier than BlazBlue Continuum Shift's missions and Street Fighter 4 's missions.

Are you guys getting the DLCs? I saw they released a paid costume pack + free Shadow Battle.

Interesting . I have the PS3 version. Do you have any favourite characters, or perhaps characters that you main?

My favourite ones are Zero and Akuma, mainly Zero, even today I don't know what third character to main, other Sentinel because of his large hp and spam tricks, lol joking haha (If only they would have put Kaijin no Soki from Onibusha Dawn of Dreams / Tatsunoko Vs Capcom he would be my third member).		2011-03-06 02:20:00

I have to say I have not played this too much since purchase. I think it's a great game but it does not even come close to the sheer perfection of Street Fighter 4. Also, Capcom really dropped the ball with single player content, it's the one thing all fans seem to agree on. Ah well, Mortal Kombat will more then make up for that, should show Capcom how to create a great sp and mp experience (as if Blazblue did not already set an example...).2011-03-07 18:09:00

Playing lobby matches. For some reason, I get my beat bad because most of players spam or use "you-know-that-robot-I-don't mention-out-loud"
