Portal: The Little Big Version

Archive: 10 posts

Hello everybody! ( Hi doctor Nick! )

So, im a newcomer in Logic or Mapping to begin with, i've createn some amateur maps previously but as a massive Portal fan i have no choice but to break my head with this project, i've started on creating a Portal map for Little Big Planet with Portal 2 timeline as a theme. The " Events " take place about a year before Portal 2 so the Vegetation grows wild and Sackboy wakes up in an extremely small pod with it's own little GLaDOS subtitute voice guiding Sackboy through the three chambers that do not require the use of Portals, this isn't meant to be challenging, but a fanwork for Portal.

The pictures are taken with my own Samsung S8000 JET Gold Edition so the picture quality isn't the best, after i've gotten some more of it done i will shoot some videos for it and make a trailer, this is my new serious project so please tell me if i should keep trying or just forget this.

UPDATE LIST

Here are the basics the map currently contains.

- Aperture Science Weighted Storage Cubes
- Aperture Science Unstationary Scafflolds
- Aperture Science 1500 Megawatt Heavy Duty Super-Colliding Super Buttons
- Aerial Faith Plates
- The new projection bridges shown in Portal 2 Co-Op
- Paintball gun ( The Aperture Science High Energy pellet blaster )
- The Spikes shown in Portal 2
- Propulsion Gel ( Not shootable or placeable, it just lies on the floor.. )
- Easy difficulty puzzles

I intend to add some possible Co-op secret, or should i make a Full Co-Op map? Also planning on putting in some secret rooms like in Portal. Any suggestions?

You could make a another seperate map for co-op, or just keep it to the co-op secret for the variety of players.
The secret rooms sound like a great idea as well; the Propuslion gel ( and Repulsion gel as well? ) could include some paint droplets ( paint splatters too? ) emitting from above to simulate the gel coming out for effect. LBP2 is sure to make this project 10X easier however. If you can still find some of those glitched platforms ( those ones that caused you to fly forward, repel you, or jump various heights. ) as prize bubbles, they would make do for the gel concept.

Feel free to use any of the ideas if you want

Thank you, unfortunately the map i was working and got a massive paint glitch since i wasn't careful with all the paintwork. So i'll be doing some extremely hars remodelling, but all for the greater good, i will make it a Full Co-Op Map. I will be creating it as large as i can and will make sequels for it if it hits the spot. Also will continue the works in LBP 2 to create even better puzzles. Im currently designing sime Co-Op Timer and reflex based puzzles.

Ah. More than one person doing a portal level!

DX

Oh well.

I'm sure ours will be different enough.

Looking good, though. o:

Haha. I came in this forum to post pictures of my artistic side of my Portal level for feedback, and I come across this. That's random.

Already did this? I have roamed through the whole LBP searching for Portal maps like this, and none compared in detail as far as i searched.
