Alternate Control Schemes

When I first saw the controlinator, the first thing I thought of was not what it would allow you to do in-game with it, but what you would be able to do with it out side of the game. So far, I've come up with a few ideas for how the controlinator affects how you "control" the game.

1. External Peripherals- yup, its here, it's real, and it's possible. The pads on the drum set all correspond to buttons on the 6-axis controller, so its possible to configure a controlinator and use it to control anything, from a sack bot, to a car, to weaponry, to even making a drum-hero game in LBP2. Anyone who has ever played Donkey Kong Jungle Beat know exactly what is possible here. Oh, and the guitar's keys all match up to buttons to, so have fun with that!

2. Multiple controllers- now this is gonna be a little bit more tricky. But theoretically, you could have one person use two controllers. My idea was to have a person hold them sideways, one in each hand. So your palm would be up against the back of the controller, with your fingers resting on the shoulder buttons. Now, this might seem a little awkward at first, but it would lead to a really cool control scheme for some racers. So you'd hold the controllers up, so they were near your shoulder, and then you'd lower it (by bending your elbow out) to make that side of the car go. So, in order to turn right, youd have to bring you right arm up, and your left arm down. Idk, it just sounds like it could be fun.

Oh, I really hope the move-creating dlc MM will give us includes a special dcs like thing for the move and nav!

Whoa!! I never really though to use the controls that way, that's really unique. Not the first idea, that one is kinda obvious, but the second I had never thought of before!! That's awesome! The problem would be that if people didn't have 2 controllers they would be able to play it like that X( They would miss out on the experience.2010-09-18 08:57:00
