Archive: 15 posts
Hey all. I was just wondering, as the question states, what file format do animated avatars take? Thanks | 2010-09-17 17:08:00 Author: theamilien Posts: 485 |

Yup.. animated gif's What is cool is each frame can have a different timing, so unlike a movie you can simply increase the time of one frame if it is to be seen a bit longer than others. | 2010-09-17 17:19:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |

I use Adobe Photoshop =) (CS5, but CS4 works, and maybe CS3) If you have an older photoshop, you just combine it with Adobe Image Ready | 2010-09-17 20:38:00 Author: Weretigr Posts: 2105 |
I have Photoshop and still use Fireworks for this kind of stuff. | 2010-09-17 20:40:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |

I used photoshop to create an animated avatar, but it saved as a .mp4. Can you set photoshop to save animation files as .GIF's ? | 2010-09-17 23:26:00 Author: theamilien Posts: 485 |
when it asks for the name type: *enternamehere*.gif and it should work | 2010-09-17 23:41:00 Author: YEAH_NAH Posts: 775 |
The only way I know how to make gifs is with Gimp...which is indeed free if you want to try it. I haven't figured it out yet. You have to download a separate package to make animated stuff. (GAP - Gimp Animation Package) | 2010-09-18 04:39:00 Author: VnGamer234 Posts: 111 |
I think it's pretty obvious that the answer is gif. APNGs aren't supported by all browsers and are much bigger files. | 2010-09-18 04:44:00 Author: Arkei Posts: 1432 |
