Survivor: LBP 5 - In Space! Silverleon Wins!

| http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=974&pictureid=8846 We're doing it again! A group of players competing against each other to win amazing prizes. Seriously amazing! Round 5! Wow! Did I mention something about outer space? For those of you who didn't know, for four seasons, a total of 47 members of the LBPC community have been playing a LBP version of Survivor - competing in challenges, voting each other out, all leading up to one person becoming the Sole Survivor. We're starting a new game! This time, we're keeping the easy schedule format and throwing in a few new twists to make things extra exciting. SPACE! Regular Game Format: Once we get all of the players, I'll divide them into teams. Every 2-3 days there will be a challenge where the teams face off and the losing team must vote one of their own out of the game. This time, challenges will come in 3 varieties: 1 - Challenges where players get to play on their own - either as many times as they want when going for a high score, or trying to be the first to get through a level. 2 - Head to Head challenges where we'll set a meeting time for everyone to get online and take everyone on. 3 - Single player challenges where players must find me online at their convenience. Players will each be invited to their team's group page. There, they can interact with fellow teammates and get all of the latest updates on the game. Once a good portion of players have been eliminated (exact number to remain secret until it happens), the teams will merge and competitions will then become individual. The winner of these individual challenges gets immunity from being voted off. All remaining players will vote for one of those remaining. Once we get down to the final two, the seven most recently eliminated players (9th-3rd Place) will each cast a vote for who they want to win. Most votes in the final vote becomes the Sole Survivor. Rules and format for each challenge will be presented to the players following each vote. Other variations may occur and will be explained to the players as the game progresses. Doesn't LBP max out at 4 players? Since LBP maxes out at 4 players, I've devised challenges that will work around that limitation. Some challenges will have the individual contributions of each team's members adding up to a whole, some will have head to head battles, some will require 2-3 from a team working together. Videos and descriptions of Season 1 and 2's team challenges are available on the official Survivor: LBP website @ christinaspartyrentals.net/survivor Want in? Here's what you need to do. Post in this thread saying that you want to play. Once you do, I'll send you a questionnaire to fill out. Fill it out and await further info. Once we're about to start, I'll send you an invite to your team's group page. It's that simple! Potential new recruits will need to play a few levels with me so I can get a feel for their skill level. However, there are some requirements for potential players: Be willing to play a few levels with me as a part of the trial so that I can personally see what you're capable of. Once the players are chosen, you must let me know who, if any of the players you have a preexisting relationship with. Be willing to check the forum at least once a day and play in a challenge once every 2-3 days. Be able to make it to the occasional scheduled meet up. Be willing to stick with this game for as long as you're still in it. If this starts in late Oct / early Nov, we'll probably end sometime in early December. Be willing to vote in the final vote even if you're a sore loser you aren't satisfied with the final two. Be able to take in game screenshots and either post them online or send them to me. Be able to respond to messages and group posts in a timely manner. Be willing to follow the rules of a given challenge. Be willing to follow the rules of the overall game. Finally, while this isn't a requirement, it will be beneficial for anyone playing to use Windows Live / MSN messenger or any other compatible service. Since there isn't a chat feature on the site any more, this will help everyone keep in touch much, much easier... They are no real limits to who can join this game. Please be somewhat coherent and have at least some grasp of how to play LBP. I also advise anyone who wishes to play to look up the basics of Survivor. As I said before, the winner will get amazing prizes! The winner will get to pick out a piece of DLC from the US amazon.com store valued $5.99 or less. Also, the winner will get tbd forum perks! Most likely XP or a features bundle. There's no exact start date yet. Right now I'm looking to start at the end of October or beginning of November. | Challenge Recaps: Challenge 1 This was a leftover idea from season 4 that I ended up never really developing that season. The co-op challenges in this game are one of the best ways for players to get an idea about their teammates' skill levels and one of the few ways to get a truly team feel during the early rounds of the competition. Add to this the fact that I wanted season 5 to be the most difficult season ever, and you get our final product for the first challenge. The original design wanted each team to split up into four different pairs and have each pair take on the course. The challenge had the pairs using jetpacks to toss a bomb to each other on a closed off course. The bombs would have to be tossed through strips of HORRIBLE GAS, and would explode instantly if taken too far off the course. Bring your bomb to the end to open up the finish line. The team with the highest total score from it's 4 pairs would win. Of course, we failed to have a single team get through the gate in the alloted time. And I really thought there would be enough time with how dramatically we increased the amount players got. For the sake of having a winner, I changed the rules to the team that got the most players through the checkpoint or the first to all eight would win. | Well.... here's something. A complete voting history for season 5. Each column represents a single round's votes, and each row represents a player's votes throughout the game. For the final vote, you can see the three staff votes under the regular jury votes. Under the entire thing you can see my picks for how the season would play out with my correct predictions highlighted. http://christinaspartyrentals.net/images/votinghistory5.jpg ! - A challenge was held where all players competed individually against the players on their own tribe. The winner on each team received immunity at the next vote they were a part of. The winners also became captains picking new teams. Since mercuy was unable to pick, gamegirl523 filled in and picked instead. This column shows the order each player was picked in. 7th Place – A 3-3-1 vote between ajmatos and mercuy went to a revote. Kabirdsall14 changed his vote from stilts to mercuy. 6th Place – A 3-3 vote between gamegirl523 and kabirdsall14 went to a revote. Silverleon abstained from voting to prevent a second tie and kabirdsall14 was eliminated. 5th Place – Gamegirl523 voted fumetsu to avoid a tie and eliminate herself. 4th – A two-two tie between fumetsu and ajmatos stayed tied. | My expectations: i hoped that I would do well. I was thinking I needed to make an alliance with somebody, but had no idea who! I had friended a couple people from my weyland tribe (fumet). Thats when I was invited to a chat where people were making alliances and just talking. Thats where I met silver. From then on I started becoming friends with fumet and silver. My alliance got first and second. Which is all that matters. Even if I was a little pawn on a big board, I am glad that silver and fumet got so far. | @kabird, once again, I beg your forgiveness.....I had NO choice and you caused that to happen when you helped take out Merc. Yes we talked and we are friends, but when you helped take out Merc we no longer had the numbers to prevent the steam roller of Silver and Fumet. If you had stayed with us, you would have been in the final 4 and probably the final 2 with Merc or Stilts. I explained all this to you, you had to know Silver and Fumet were never going to take you to the final 2. @Radical, I voted Fumet in that last round because Silver had immunity, I would NEVER vote for Stilts, and AJ helped me stay in another round so I would not vote for him either. Leaving Fumet my only option. Stilts had already voted and we decided it was no use to have him change his vote. Even if Stilts had voted for Fumet with me, I had to go out of town for a few days and would not be able to play, no time for a tiebreaker....so...it was what it was, time for me to go :-(. @AJ, thanks AJ, I knew you relented and saved me. | ok so Survivor. I was severely disappointed. I would've made it further, if i hadn't been put on the wrong team. I'm surprised that Stilts chose me first. That would be the MAIN reason i got out BECAUSE STILTS CHOSE ME. I expected to make it further because I thought Stilts was the biggest threat xD lol I guess i just pushed myself too hard and tried to make sure that we won the challenges. | lol yea that was my bad. I know my biggest mistake and that was trying my hardest 100% of the time. I felt that i needed to because last season, I stayed back, and tried every once in a while, but people thought Duffluc did more (he didn't really though...lol) And drama happened lol. | Challenge 1.... This was a leftover idea from season 4 that I ended up never really developing that season. The co-op challenges in this game are one of the best ways for players to get an idea about their teammates' skill levels and one of the few ways to get a truly team feel during the early rounds of the competition. Add to this the fact that I wanted season 5 to be the most difficult season ever, and you get our final product for the first challenge. The original design wanted each team to split up into four different pairs and have each pair take on the course. The challenge had the pairs using jetpacks to toss a bomb to each other on a closed off course. The bombs would have to be tossed through strips of HORRIBLE GAS, and would explode instantly if taken too far off the course. Bring your bomb to the end to open up the finish line. The team with the highest total score from it's 4 pairs would win. Of course, we failed to have a single team get through the gate in the alloted time. And I really thought there would be enough time with how dramatically we increased the amount players got. For the sake of having a winner, I changed the rules to the team that got the most players through the checkpoint or the first to all eight would win. Pairs competed the course in this order: Silverleon and alexgangsta4 Sage and WESFUN doubletime and the troll fumetsusozo and kabirdsall sibtiger55 and gamegirl523 dxdydz and mercuy77 Prince Pixelton and stiltsinjax ktmbillyjr was ready to challenge in the early portions, and ajmatos was waiting online until Weyland won. Silverleon found a unique method of bringing the ball through most of the course on his own by flying above the explosion zone while carrying the bomb below it.
