Concerns about who Sony picks for Beta

| The below video is from a kid who has the LBP2 Beta, and I really am in a down state because he doesn't even know what beta means.....(There is no footage of beta) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mt_TH6GpOUA Now after watching this, I was thinking to myself, 'Since Sony is picking the users that are most active on LBP, that means that little kids can get the beta so much easier than anyone else.' Kids should not be allowed to be the beta testers. The ones that have had LBP over a year and are capable of giving feedback and asking questions are the ones that should get beta, not kids that don't know what the heck they are talking about. I also realized that kids are able to get almost anything they want, there are some kids on my friends list who are 8 and 10, and they are fun to play with, but they are on LBP almost 24/7. I don't think they have the knowledge to give MM feedback about their game. I would like some opinions or answers about this whole situation. | What's this? There is some kid with a webcam being a jerk on youtube!!??!!! Oh teh noes! Meh. There is only a certain amount of vetting the Sony can put into their selection of beta participants. The 18+ rule is almost certainly more for legal reasons than because "adults make better testers" (which is such a sweeping generalisation that it's pretty much nonsense). It's not like they can judge everyone on their ability to find bugs, follow sensible test strategies and communicate those findings in a coherent manner. I'm not saying activity is a great criteria, but it does at least mean you'll get a fair amount of those people's time. Sure not everyone who gets in will be agood tester. Where is that dissolve tool when i need it...  Dont be mad at me, but i think that kids CAN be a good beta tester. Kids CAN be as responsibule as someone over 18 if not more. But that kid is not, at least chosing not to be... To go to the crown: to get a crown, you need some skill. The type of skill you need to not make a H4H or bomb level. | I've seen so much worse. | The age old problem of people lying about their age online will never be solved... unfortunately, just as there will always be incompetent store owners and parents who allow their children access to "age-specific" video games and other material that they are clearly not supposed to get their tiny little hands on. While I agree that some younger players would make good beta testers... there are reasons they aren't included in the age range to do so. Lying about your age at any time for any reason is wrong... PERIOD! The only fix I could see to this problem is for any and ALL beta testers to provide SIN numbers to Sony upon signing up, but that would go against our rights and would never happen. Sony could ask, but I surely wouldn't give my SIN # up just to beta test a game.... even this one. PS.
