Manic Miner 2010Laeraneth In short: An homage to the grand-daddy of platform games. Manic Miner! Yes yes I know, it's probably the 20 millionth attempted remake since LBP came out. But... I'd like to think it's a faithful recreation of a classic, and as such, as many people as possible should enjoy it! Hello! Manic Miner. How many people reading this know the name? If you don't, it's often regarded as the platformer that started the genre. (Along with Donkey Kong maybe...) First released in 1983, it caused many a burgeoning young nerd to strive and struggle and sigh and swear (once we were old enough to know swear words ;P) to try and beat it. And being one of those old-skool nerds, I felt the need to re-create it in LBP. So far I've uploaded the first 10 stages of the game, contained in 2 LBP levels. I've tried to blend both original single-screen playstyle of the original with some more flexible styles of play linking one stage to the next and generally bring it's visuals and style up to date for the 21st century. Attached are a few choice screenshots that hopefully whet your appetite Enjoy!
