We know everything from lbp1 is compatible with lbp2 but you know how the game of the year edition of lbp1 comes with dlc ON the disc and not saved on the harddrive like dlc you buy. Would this mean you cant get the dlcs from the GoTY edition onto lbp2?

It'll be fine. When you download DLC you don't download the data, you simply download an unlocking key. The GotY edition will have unlocked all of that DLC for you. When you install LBP2, it will recognise the unlocking keys and you will have your DLC. Don't worry, they aren't gonna let something like that slip them by

So...basically, if i had the normal edition of lbp1, my friend had lbp GoTY edition, i just insert his GoTY edition into my ps3, then let it install, then take it out and put in lbp2, id get free dlc? Just an example.

Don't think so, I'm pretty sure someone said recently they lost their GotY edition, and when they bought a regular edition they didn't have the DLC, so seems to only work with GotY. Altho I didn't follow the thread for long, so he may have just missed something. Still, you shouldn't talk about a scam so openly m8... O_o eh, like i said before, the GotY edition dlc is on the disc. But it goes through a install the first time using it. Then when you switch back to the normal edition, another install comes and all your dlc is gone.

From what I understand they just import your LBP1 profile into LBP2. So if you pop in GOTY, save a profile on it(with dlc stuff showing in popit) thenstart LBP2 and import that. You should have the dlc in LBP2
