Falling Fruit Frenzy [1P Minigame]

Falling Fruit Frenzy [1P Minigame]AeroForce22
A hectic day at the orchard sure if fun! See how many points you can get in this addicting minigame!
F4F: The first five people to leave feedback will receive an F4F of the level they choose. If one of the first five people does not have an F4F level (or does not want me to leave feedback), I will extend to the sixth person and so on. (So I'll be giving out 5 F4F's...).

TL;DR Version:This is my latest little experiment. I figured I'd give a shot at minigames in preparation for LBP2. I took some of the basic ideas found in LBP2 and tried my best to replicate them in this version. So here's my best attempt at something that I view as an original and fun minigame!

You wanna catch fruit in the basket which will award you points depending on the fruit type. The controls are very simple and you want to beat the high score before nighttime (when the game ends). So have fun and try to beat my insanely high score of 2,100 points (this score is subject to change...). Which isn't that high considering I know the pattern of the falling fruits by now. xD So yeah, have fun. I'd love comments and suggestions. ^o^

Detailed Version + Disclaimer: So the basis of the game is to get as many points as possible by catching different types of fruit in your basket. The point values are as follows:
Cherry - 50Pts
Apple - 100Pts
Orange - 150Pts

And are displayed in the level by this board:

Following that, you will get a quick view of the leaderboard and then drop down into the play area:

As time goes on, it will near nighttime. As nighttime nears, fruit will begin to fall faster allowing for more points to be obtained and possibly the ability to build up combos (however, I'm unsure if these combos actually affect the score. I don't believe that they do sadly).

Now on to what ideas I have taken from LBP2. The first one is the scoring system. I'm sure this has been done many times before, but I've personally never used it before. The scoring works in a way where when one of the fruits falls into the basket, brains will be activated, rewarding 50 points. Cherries have three different mag keys (due to delay issues with the scoring) so that it will be guaranteed to score the 50 points. When the mag keys come into contact with the inside of the basket, a brain will be activated, rewarding with 50 points for a cherry. When an apple or an orange falls into a basket, 2 or 3 brains will be activated rewarding 100 or 150 points respectively.

Disclaimer: I understand that the controls of the basket do not work one to one. HOWEVER, there is nothing I can do about this. The control system uses two buttons that pull back winches on a remote three-way switch which moves the basket left or right depending which button you press. Sackboy/girl stands on top of a wheel so that you can reset to the center position upon ceasing to run. This should stop the basket from moving (however, sackboy/girl has a tendency to want to put their hands up on the button while near it, which causes the basket to move in that direction. Just jump/run the other way to stop this).

Also, I've gotten a few comments that ask for indicators as to where and when the fruits are going to fall. My reply to this improvement is: "I have tried this by using lights, as well as falling leaves that light up/drop a short bit before the fruit. The only issue with this is that the minigame become EXTREMELY hectic to the point where it's no fun since you'll be focusing on indicators more than catching the fruit. So please refrain from suggesting this as it has been addressed and it too crazy."

P.S.

Well I just tried out the level and it is a solid idea, you could even add a person holding the basket to cuten it up, or a little dancing figure to the side. I am working on a level that uses a control sceme close to that, but instead of buttons I put in prox censors on either side, adn instead of a winch to a three way I am using a flipper pad above it, one on each side. Even with that the delay is still there...but the basket is a little bumpy in this...so not sure if that would help. I always want to avoid the use of a jetpack and prox sensors, but at times it seems like that is the easiet way. Back on subject it was fun catching the fruits, but it was also very hard with the delay. The backet was a good size. It is hard to give more feedback on it because you do pretty much cover all the cons on it in your post above, not sure if a fast basket would be good, because I could not catch a fruit if I was on one side and I wanted to get one I say falling on the other side...you could attach each fruit to a hidden chain with a key attached with a direction setting that had it fall slowly, and if you wanted then you could set a timer that after so much time would emit faster fruits. I toyed with an escalator that spped up over time with an speed setting...but that turned out very fickle because of LBP weird internal clock with chains an pistons that love to choose their own time and direction...but with more patients than I have it can be done. Also the start with the invisibe wall to the right, it is ok, but possibly a fall warning sign, and then a chasm of death tot he right. I would say cutify the level up a bit, slow the fruits or speed the basket. I like fun minigames like this one, hope that helped a little.
If you feel like a little feedback I could still use some on the "Choice" levels, just on if the work and such, or the "OK Space Accident" has been massively overhauled to try and find why people have not beaten it ever.

Nice minigame. The catching fruits for points are really clever and the lighting changing really tells you how much time you have left. The only con is that sometimes the basket doesn't seem to move at a timing pace. Overall good job. 5 stars.

Play and F4F any of "The Hero Chronicles" levels you haven't F4F yet. If I remember correctly, the ones you already F4F are LV1, LV4, and LV7.
