Oh no, not this again, you said the same thing about Sackbots. Sure you can make something similar, but it takes much more time and the end result is nothing like as good. Using the tracking device will save loads of time and thermo space meaning you have loads more time and thermo space left for other stuff making your level even better.

If you're gonna complain about every new feature, don't get LBP2, stick with LBP1.

I mean seriuosly... It is easy to make a tracking system unless you are a 11 year old kid. And i know because i made one myself ( Unpublished though because i abadoned Chicken mania 2, the level the tracking system was suppost to be featured as a ufo would have the abbility to aim their electric plasma balls to the players, and NO i don't mind giving you the logic you used if everything else fails).

Simply make a spotlight/turret that you put a wobble bolt on so it can wobble 180 degrees downwards,, and place 2 sensors switches on both sides that have been angled so the right one will only sence the sackboys at the left and vice versa, and when the sackboy is standing right infront of the turret/spotlight it will stand still. No place a peace of dark matter in the air, and in that place a 3 way lever switch( NOT GLUED but placed directly in and make sure it still has full motion) then set it to " direction ".

On both sides have a small piece of darkmatter that is attached via a chain(Don't remember the exact name) to the sponge part of the lever, So that it will drag down the lever. Spending a few moments adjusting strengths/lenghts should be adequate.

Then above it place a darkmatter piece, and on that piece and emitter that is set to emit a dissolve box with a magnetic key( Set emitter to on and make sure that as long as it is on there is allways a key emitted. Give it 0,1 sec life time and 0,1 sec frequency. Have 2 magnetic switches on the dark matter of the same colour whereas both are set to direction. Then you connect one of the 2 magnetic keys( Set to inverted) to one side of the chain, and the other is used to make sure that the right ( Or left side) Is prioritized so that if there are players on both sides then it will turn right regardless.

Now do the same thing again ( but only on magnetic direction key for the other chain, once again set to inverted) but besidesi it have a darkmatter piston that when extended will block the space were the second darkmatter block emits it's key. Make sure to take the other Magnetic key from the first dark matter box and set it to direction so that whenver there is a sack to the right the pistion will go to the right IF there are players on the right !

And VOILA ! A tracking system. If you want to make sure that the lights are only on or that the turret ONLY Shoots when a player is right infront of it. Then put a third magnetic sensor switch in the middle ( With very low angle ofcourse so it only sesnes players taht are infront and will be visible in the light or hit by the plasma ball) and simply but it to on/one shot and connect it to the emitter/light.

See that wasn't hard at all , it is best if we leave the ones capable of making a level in making them and the noobs left playing untill they can create something as good. But having read all theese clear instructions you STILL can't make a tracker.. Add me <<<<<doubletimewa and i shall give you the very same tracking logics as i use ^^ As i did with WarBossMan !

Well, you just well and truly proved you don't "get it". Not that there was any doubt, but I think the above post is just the last nail in the coffin...

Oh, and your angular tracking device: It's inefficient and kinda sloppy. If you're gonna keep on bragging about how you aren't a n00b and you're so much better than everyone else, go back to your PS3, strip out all the waste and then come back and post instructions for a good design, please. Not that I'm gonna read it, I haz LBP2 to play with

Besides i would never ever use logics made by others, i must allways make sure that whatevr i used is 100 percent my own and not from any other player. That is why i would never use the shark or even the 3d glitch. Even if it means that my version of how to make some kidn of logic isn't as effective i still will use it merely because i made it without any influence from anyone else...2010-09-25 18:17:00

If you get a tool, you don't need to make it again yourself from scratch - for example...

Your mother says "The manicotti that took four hours is ready! Come eat dinner!" Then you come downstairs and say;
"I can make that myself".
Then you spend 12 hours trying to make manicotti that tastes horrible and is burnt.

This is diffrent since the food is for private use only,if i were to enjoy the food for myself i couldn't care less if somebod else made it. But if i were to serve it at a restaurant i need to at the very least make it my own. .And my tracking decive works 100 percent well and is really fluent !2010-09-25 19:32:00

In this case, the analogy ends right where I stopped it. Continuing it would blow the analogy out of proportion, and that would be unnecessary.
Wouldn't you like a tracking device that follows sackboy not just in the x and y axes, but is smart about collision, and tries to avoid walls and floors. The follow mover is a much better solution than making a tracking device from scratch - you can fit more in a level, for one.

And herein lies the flaw in all of your logic.

Everything that can be done in LBP1 (and far more) can be done with notepad. By your logic, LBP1 is just as redundant as LBP2.

The fact that you have decided (arbitrarily and without any fundamental reasoning) that LBP1 is the perfect point for crafting home-made video game experiences, coupled with your obstinate refusal to see any other viewpoint, simply demonstrates your closed-mindedness.


And we can do more with LBP2, significantly more, so please stop chatting breeze before I have to lock down another argument that stems from your trolling - the third one's gonna get you infracted, along with anyone else who decides to join in the mindless flaming.

doubletime you know how you wrote that 5 paragraph instruction on how to make a tracking device?
I can place one follower chip faster then you can read the first word you wrote.

Comparable, before you finnish your tracking device I can have mine avoid obstructions, change layers to get to the sackboy, speed up or slow down and even turn off and on.
