Is LBP 2 the end of classic adventure levels?

Archive: 12 posts

Hello guys,

LbP2 has many new ways to create levels with almost any genre.
We have seen Top-Down Racers, Real Time Strategy, 2D Side-Scroll Shooters etc.

Now my question:
Will you still be interested in playing classic adventure levels with jumping, puzzles, boss battles etc. in LittleBigPlanet 2? Or do you say: "No, that's LBP1 style, I want to see new stuff!" ?

Don't forget to join in the poll.

I would like to see a combination of the two. I'd like my mechs and bosses to be smarter, the levels more engaging (sackbots and cinematics) and all-around classic hop and bop to always be around.2010-09-13 13:33:00

I'm wondering who will make the first hybrid. For example, a top-down race gets platform'd through. And that's only the obvious...2010-09-13 13:58:00

is it the End of classic adventure levels? >No<
And really i've seen like 5 or so other topics asking that same kind of thing,
We'll have new and classic levels made all the time and i'll play whatever i feel in the mood for,
And i'm a random dragon at best sooooo i think i'll play lots of everything *mew

You should add a "meh" option.

For me and most I know its gonna be the same as alays, If the level its good, it doesn't matter how its done, if the level its bad, same deal.

I'm not gonna preffer some crappy top-down level over an awsome regular platformer.

Besides, LBP2 doesn't mean JUST new stuff, but improved old things too, so its not like everyone's gonna dump everything that already happened before just because of the new.

Heck, if that's the case then why have the ability to transefr everything from LBP1 to LBP2, and have all LBP1 levels there to begin with?

I want to see a move away from platforming levels and towards variety in moves and abilities. With sackbots we can give players amazing powers and with improved logic we can build complex RPG battle systems. I also LOVE racing games so the prospect of top-down racing a la Micro Machines in LBP has me stoked. Critics of LBP1 were right in that it IS the same gameplay a lot of the time... jump, swing, jump again and it DOES get old. The best levels in LBP1 were those that used "jump, swing, jump" and made it look pretty with lots of moving parts. That's because any other mechanic was often clumsy. There's no such excuse in LBP2. I want to play a game where I'm a sorcerer casting spells or I'm a fat guy on a pogo stick spearing people as I jump past.2010-09-13 22:01:00

Meh.

I wan t to se platforming level still, but not LBP1 esquire platforming levels.

I want to see platforming levels with new twists to them using power ups, DCS, etc etc.

There is a huge majority of platformer levels in LBP2, most of them utilizing the new power-ups.2010-09-13 22:18:00

I want to play that level that they showed in this one video... Gah, I don't know where the link for it went. But you were attached (by a DCS) to this like rabbit mecha thing, and you could hop around, and hop off of walls. It was platforming with a new twist.

I think/hope we'll be seeing a lot of that. Creative original platforming ideas, instead of just LBP platforming over and over again.
