1 shot paint switch HELP!!

Archive: 3 posts

OK so I'm making a platform that when you shoot it with paint it bounces you up.

So I attached a paint switch (set to 1 paint required, one-shot) and I connected it to the piston at the bottom (set to stiff, flipper direction outward). I also attached it to a tubey thonk sound.

I am usually a good creator, and I've created some vastly complex logic. BUT IT DOESN'T WORK. When I change the piston & switch to be just directional, it works. When I use a magnetic key switch to one-shot the piston, it works. The tubey thonk sound works. Emitters connected to the paint switch work. But how I want it, the stupid piston stays in the OUT position (yes the out position, when the default position should be IN).

Somebody tell me WTF this doesn't work, in the meantime I'm going to make a relay so that the paint switch triggers an emitter which emits a key which activates a one-shot magnetic switch. Do paint switches work differently to all other switches?????

Try connecting the paint switch to a permanent switch (A permanent switch is basically a magnetic key on dissolve, right above a magnetic key on dark matter. The magnetic key has to be in radius of the magnetic switch. The magnetic switch is inverted.) All you have to do is attach the paint switch to the dissolve in the permanent switch and set the magnetic key to direction. If the direction of the piston isn't right, set it to 'backwards'.

If all else fails or you just don't understand what I said, search "LBPC Logic Pack" in the LittleBigPlanet Community.

OK, this all sounds very wrong tbh - it should just work....

In situations like this, when something relatively simple isn't working the way it actually should, I just tend to delete the lot and start from scratch. Chances there is somethinng simple gone wrong, and you could spend aages getting frustrated looking for it, when a rebuild would be quicker.
