inspired by media like "blade runner", "cowboy bebop", and "the good the bad and the ugly", this graphic novel i have been planning since the 5th grade (i am a junior now) tells the tale of a scientist who can't get his way, after getting kicked from area 51 for illegal use of a newly discovered material, he is offered a job by the Russians years later. The russains threaten him to build a super solider. they give him the materials, including a stolen chunk of the unknown material (now named durodium). the durodium is a soft, skin like material, but if tampered with roughly it hardens up into an almost unbreakable substance, this is what he uses for the soldiers armor. After years of tests, the scientist makes over 11 failed soldiers from unknowing, innocent people. now on 12, and frustrated, he focuses, and makes sure he doesn't screw up. the 12th solider is built, now he needs to activate it to see if it works. but before he can do anything, the Russians break through the door. They see the solider and are happy with it, but they realize the scientist is of no use anymore. He doesn't take this lightly, he runs behind his desk, pulls out a grenade, throws it, rushes to the solider, put it into a stasis for 1000 years (this is unreleasable until the timer runs out). the grenade kills everyone in the room. 15 years later, the meteorite apophis hits earth, killing most of the earths population, the atmosphere, plants, wild life, almost everything is obliterated. 25% of the human population survive underground. 200 years later an alien race assists the humans to survive their destroyed planet, building cities in craters. for almost 500 years the human race and alien race lived together in harmony, until 2804 when the cities started to become corrupt and unordered for an unknown reason. the alien leaders haven't been seen in over 10 years, never appearing, making the humans nervous and angry. the year is now 3013, the solider wakes up in a new world. new york is gone and nothing is left to be seen, not even a few scraps. he walks across a baron waste land that stretches as far as the eye can see, never getting exhausted or hot. he gets lucky, and comes across a city in a huge crater, the biggest he has ever seen. he runs to it, finally at salvation. turrets greet him by firing, he screams and runs faster, coming to the edge of the crater and falling all the way down to the bottom. Welcome to Nazareth (working name), bounty hunting is popular, people are dieing left and right, and everyone is controlled by a man made organism, but by who? who controls the puppets?
