Sorry if someone else already thought of this: Air material. You don't notice it out of the water, but when under water it acts as an air space. It basically creates a hole in the water. Then you could make a submarine or caves or whatever. Doesn't seem like it would be too hard, but heck how would I know.

There was a topic about being able to place water in the form you want it to be (Like in a pool). If that happens you can also make air holes ^^. Still doubt it will be in LBP2 but its a great idea. I personally think that something like an closed square should have air in it when it goes underwater.
