I posted uch while back about my idea to do a movie in LBP2 but make a game of the movie as well, titled "This Idea Will Blow Your Mind". Traditional, game to film or film to game projects have been pretty but because the script has been written for one or the other never both. LBP2 is the first time that a script can be written in tandem for both game and film. writers I have been very hard at work getting started on the script and I have finished 3 levels with (for the time being) 4 levels to go and the it's coming together very very nicely indeed, I have just thought up a good name for the project and once more is relieved all with become clear. I am going to post the first scene (or at least the scene that for the time being is the first scene lol). The story is about Gamer who one night has his thumbs stolen (because it's the one thing all gamers need) and his adventure to get them back. This is all I'm giving away at the moment but let's just say that Gamer's thumbs are more important than they first seem. If anyone would like to help with this project then please message me or let me know below. I am especially looking for writers and concept artists the now as I want to concentrate on the story and look until the actual game comes out, after the game comes out if changes need to be made then we'll deal with it at the time. So without further ado here is the first scene for The Final Fanboy. Enjoy and any comments are appreciated. The game starts looking like a usual, platforming LBP level. As the lines are being said Sackboy is seen platforming across a massive bridge with a sour feel to the surroundings as if something very bad is going to happen. Gamer ? Hey, my names Gamer. Well it's not really but that?s what I go by. If you want to know my real name it?ll cost 20000 gamerpoints. That?s the kind of guy I am. My life is a game and all the extras are DLC. You think you?re a gamer but you?re not. Until you?ve been on a journey like mine you?re not a gamer. I suppose you want to know why I sound so downtrodden and moody. Well, this is a story of betrayal, horror and violence. The journey I am about to tell you started many years ago when I was just a boy. Just an innocent child taking his first steps into the world. As the next lines are being said the sackboy stops offscreen Mother - JOSH YOU?RE DINNERS READY. Gamer ? pause and breaths a heavy sigh then sackboy starts again And with each step he knew more and more that destiny had intertwined him with the fate of the world. He knew. As the next lines are being said sackboy gets put off by them and falls down a pit, falling for some time before he hits the bottom Mother - JOSH COME ON ALREADY! I?VE MADE YOUR FAVOURITE. CHEESEBURGERS WITH BBQ SAUSE AND CURLY CHIPS WITH CHEESE AND A MOUNTAIN DUE. Sackboy gets respawned at a save point back at the start of the bridge and starts the level again Gamer - He knew that no matter what happened he had to overcome this evil that was brewing in. Mother - JOSH IF YOU DON?T COME DOWN RIGHT NOW I?M THROWING IT OUT. The game gets paused Gamer ? OH FOR KRATOS SAKE I?LL BE DOWN IN A MINUTE MUM I JUST NEED TO FINISH SOMETHING. There is a transition from the game to Gamers? room. Gamer is sitting on a gaming chair infront of a massive tv with the platforming game visible on the tv. Gamer has his head turned towards the door which is closed ONE MINUTE AND I?LL BE DOWN. Pause Gamer goes back to playing the video game and we can see it was him doing the voice over to a game he is playing. Gamer is aged 21 ? 25. Gamer - This evil that was brewing in the world of the chosen one. The world that was about to change and never be the. Mother - WHATEVER YOU?RE DOING MAKE SURE TO CLEAN UP AND WASH YOU?RE HANDS WHEN YOU?RE FINISHED DOING WHATEVER IT IS YOUR DOING. Pause Gamer puts the controller down. Slowly gets up off his chair, switches his console off, walks slowly over to the door and grabs the handle. Just as it looks like he is about to open the door he turns his head and looks outward at the viewer with a very sarcastic and annoyed expression on his face. The next lines are said to the viewer Gamer ? Get over yourselves. Gamer opens the door and walks out. The camera slowly zooms up to the gaming chair and a hand appears. End

Good work. I didn't expect it to be humorous, haha. You made it sound pretty serious in your other thread. Anyways, i have a question. How will you show Gamer and the tv?

The long answer is; if there is one thing that making levels in LBP has taught me, it is that you should just draw or plan what you want to do then try making it in the game. There's no point in restricting creativity at this point as it's not clear what you will or won't be able to do in the game. The short answer is video wall.

Sounds like quite the interesting concept. So is this going to be about sackboy leaving "Gamer's" TV and going through his house, or what? That's the first thing that came to mind for me.

I can tell you the story is going to revolve around Gamer and sackboy will, probably, only be featured in the intro. I also said in another post that the main story is about Gamer waking up one morning and realising that his thumbs are gone, because it's the one thing that every gamer in the world needs. I'm not going to revel anything else about the story unless I let people work on the project as I don't want to give anything major away but lets just say the story is pretty in depth.

Okay guys I'm really sorry for the double post but I have just finished doing writing the script for the 2nd level and I couldn't resist putting a bit of it here as a tease. Enjoy lol Gamer is walking out of the shop changing his sword into a shield. There are a lot of guards outside and at the front of them is General Malmdan. Malmdan - Stop in the name King Ron and the KTA. So, you thought you could outwit us by walking around the village talking to people. I see you have got yourself some weapons, I?m sure you haggled like a moggle to get it. And after coming this far do you think that I, General Malmdan (pride and joy of the KTA defence force and ambassador to the FC), would not think to take you out myself. Now unless you can walk up to me and press square to strike me with your sword, prepare to lose all your lives. Malmdan puts up his sword and a timer appears at the top of the screen which starts going down very slowly. Gamer sighs, then walks up to Malmdan and strikes him. There is a cool effect and Malmdan keels over. There?s a pause, then Malmdan jumps up. Malmdan - You didn?t think it would be that easy did you? Ha, try again next time noob. And believe me when I say, there will be a next time. Malmdan leaves and 4 guards walk onto the screen and a battle happens.

End Wait.. if you've started making making this in the LBP2 beta, it won't be carried over to the full game :/ (at least, that's what i've heard) though it all sounds very interesting, you should wait until the full game comes out

Na I don't have the beta. My plan is to write the script first because that will encompass the setting and gameplay dynamics, if changes need to be made then we can work around it but if you want to make a good game I believe you need to start with story, character and setting. Especially, when you're going a game/film type thing like this. That's why I'm looking for writers and concept artists, so we can get as much planing as possible before the game comes out... next year...
