Explosive Palace

Explosive PalaceJetstream1411
You and a mysterious traveler find an abandoned palace in the desert. What sort of traps and treasures does it hold? This is not a bomb survival.
I know I already posted a thread for this but I didn't know what F4F was. I hope you don't mind. Let the other thread die.

I had a lot of fun playing your level, although it was very difficult at times. You did some really cool stuff with the bombs, I liked that you used the impact bombs in place of sponges in the beginning of the level, I've never seen that done before. Also the bomb blocks with glass on top were really cool too. I had to restart the level at one point though. After I activated the first stair set that leads to the sponge on a winch, the sponge ended up landing on the platform with me and I fell into the gas entering the room with the 4 blocks with lights on them. So I got the sponge stuck up there and couldn't get back up. This would be an easy fix though, you could make the landing platform angled so if the sponge lands up there it will roll back down on its own. The part with the 4 blocks was really cool, I died a lot in that room, but it was fun. The boss was cool too, I like that the timed bombs dropped near the cover spots, making no spot totally safe. Overall it was a fun level, although it was a little on the short side. 4 stars .

If you get a chance you should play my level, The Gunsmithe's Workshop and if you want to leave me some feedback post it in my thread.

Fun level!

I thought of those bomb-swings a while back, but never had a chance to use them in my level. Very nice!
The bomb-wheels were pretty cool. I like that the grabbable part gets damaged making it tricky even if the bombs are already blown up.

Some parts of the level seemed bland, visually. That material is a good one, as it shows walking-surfaces well.

During the boss battle there's a safe spot on the far left where nothing can hit you. It's slightly offset by the fact that you've got to reload the paintinator. That didn't make it too easy--I still died twice in that fight...

I love the ending, but it took me a few seconds to tell what happened. I think a sound cue for the--um--"machinery" (I'm trying not to give anything away) would help that. Maybe a nice "KA-CHUNK!"

Try my level "Castle" if you get a chance.
Thanks for the fun!

Thanks everyone! I will try out your levels! Yeah I did notice that one corner spot but IDK why but it's impossible to fix. Other than that I tried to make it flawless. And that sponge thing, sorry bout that lol. And I'll make a sound thing tomorrow about that. Thanks for the feedback!2010-09-11 03:58:00
