Yesterday I posted that emails had been sent out to the chosen participants for the LBP 2 Beta. It turns out those were only for European gamers. The North American Beta for the game will begin next week on the 14th according to one eager gamer who got his/her information straight from Sony. This user named TSFRJ on the Official PlayStation Community forums contacted SCEA Customer Support and received this bit of news: ”According to SCEA reps at phone number 1-866-286-5123, the North America LBP2 Beta goes live September 14th.” “Whether or not NA e-mails get sent by then is still unknown,” he continues. “Also they stated that if any major issues arise from the EU beta, then NA might get delayed but for now the current date is September 14th.” SCEA made no mention of Plus subscribers gaining any special access to the Beta but this is good news for North American LBP fans who still want to participate in the Beta. MM told us they were moitering activity offline constantly as well to try and obtain something meaningful out of them. There is no reason why you would need to be online for sony to obtain data on your activity (other than to upload cummulative offline data). Essentially, saying that offline activity doesn't count is assuming yo much... But then I'd argue that taking their word for it that "activity" (whatever that means), is actually directly related to who gets in, is assuming too much as well. Anyhoo... My take on this: We do not really know what influences the decision, and the decision has already been made, so nothing you can do now will change whether you get into the beta or not.

Soon usually means more than a month, lol. I think they had to say it because the date isn't fixed in stone, it could be delayed a few days if a catastrophic bug was discovered.

Edit: @LittleBigPlanet in twitter said this. Beta servers are offline whilst we find a fix for a nasty thing! Be right back with you asap!

So the European e-mails have all been sent? That's a shame, as I didn't recieve one. BTW, this is what some friends of mine said about it: "Due to the 'activity-rule, the Beta will most likely have A LOT of noobplayers on it." (This person is in the Beta) "I got my mail yesterday at 5, and ... got his mail this afternoon." (Both got in) "The Beta is awesome!" (Same person as 1st quote) So at the moment I got about 4 friends playing the Beta, wich feels so bad... Oki/

I made another PSN account for 2 reasons... 1. To be ABSOLUTELY sure that my age was entered in as 18, so that I can participate in all betas 2. So I can make a lot more LBP2 levels! Hopefully that 30 minutes of activity on my second account will be enough to get me in. To bad the 700+ hours I have spent playing LBP will go unnoticed on my first account...

Well you have to enter that you're 18 or else you have to set up a master account, so chances are it's set as at least 18 years old.

However the actual testing Period within MM is expecting feedback and bug reports is limited, but as I am not in the beta, I would have no idea how much, and if I was in the beta, I would not be able to to say due to the NDA.

Looks like this is going round and round in circles. The fact is this - no-one here at LBPC (except for those few members who have the good fortune of being employed by Mm) know the answers to the beta questions people keep asking. And those that do are not going to come here and answer them - they're flat out with beta stuffs. So I really, honestly don't see any point in keeping this thread active at this stage. Sorry, folks.
