A Poem with No Intended Meaning
Archive: 8 posts
Last year, I studied a few poems by T.S. Eliot. First off, I did not understand what some of his poems were about. They made no dang sense!! Then I got the idea... What if I were to write a poem that looked legit... A poem that seemed like it actually meant something when I was actually making up things to say off the top of my head. I could then force my poem into the school system and teachers would force their students to find the meaning of the poem when in fact, I did not intend for there to be a meaning at all... Mwahahaha... ---------------------------------------------- This was the poem I wrote: Reflection's Inheritance Indifference in the revealing nature of time, Discovering the rise of curious roses, Among the eyes of honesty's key, Heart of value, Mind of Moses, Renewing the reflection's innocent crime. Do I see? Do I see? Reluctance has no sense of pride, The smoke's gaze has no denial, What child can witness cries, Cries from the ancient land, Acceptance has laid its speech aside. Could it be? Could it be? Morality is found in unveiling one's heart, What sweet aroma ascends to the air? Beauty's diligence, Portion's grace, How thine rose sees the magnificent care. Nature's eye, among the honesty of three, Time can speak of its way of redemption, Can the hands of peace discuss hope? One can tell of the red horizon, As far as punctual villains can see, Do they see? Do you see? What is there to be looked upon? Could it be moonlight's distant crying? Why does she cry like so? Is pride bringing forth crime's reluctance? It is the scream of the colors, move of the pawn. There can be none, No, not one. ------------------------------------------ ShamgarBlade! What does this poem mean? Heck I don't know!!! I got one of my friends to try and find the meaning in this poem once, and he thought I was talking about the end of the world lol... lol thanks... i have no idea what it means though! i literally just picked random words that would pop up in my head! The one thing i did pay attention to is the rhyming pattern of the poem. It was basically like this: 1 2 3 2 1 4 4 1 2 3 2 1 4 4 1 2 3 2 1 2 3 2 1 4 4 1 2 3 2 1 4 4 | 2010-09-20 04:13:00 Author: ShamgarBlade Posts: 1010 |

It's definately about how babies cry when roses grow and villains trip over colors revealing the true form of nature. Yep..... Infered lifeforms, exploding rainbows, all of that jazz.....or should I say...."moonlight?" /drinks | 2010-10-25 00:57:00 Author: Prince Pixelton Posts: 286 |
