Solve puzzles and platform to a motel.

This level is a mixture of puzzle sections and platforming.

At the end of the level there's an arcade machine you can play to get points. I thought I had it set up to sort of randomly dispense points but I messed up. If you do it right you can turn it on it will just shoot points out until it breaks down. I was able to get 500,000 points but it should be possible to get more than that.

I personally enjoyed much more the rest of your levels. However, it might be because the scale of grey lvls arent my favourite kind.2010-09-08 22:44:00

Looks incredible! Hoping to check it out soon!

I haven't been playing a lot, and when I do, it's usually in Create Mode lately, but this looks irresistible!

Wow, nice level!

I really liked the black and white effect! It reminds me of Limbo, which is I guess is what you were going for. It's definitely a nice effect, and I liked it!

But, just like Limbo, I had a pretty tough time with the puzzles. It's not a bad thing, but some things seemed like they simply weren't obvious enough. How was I supposed to know that I could *spoilercoughgrabthewindmillspoilercough* or *spoilercoughwalkonthepipesspoilercough*? I guess that's just what makes a puzzle a puzzle?

I gave it 4 stars! It was a visual treat that could have some gameplay fix-ups in my opinion.

@crazymario I haven't played Limbo but I've seen some videos from. I definetly took some cues from Sabre_'s Umbra Valley level which looks a lot like Limbo. I debated putting something in the description about the windmill but since there's nothing else really to do to get past there I figured most people would get it.

@Keldur: I've always like levels with the sort of lighting effect I used in this one plus I got to build nearly everything with just dark matter and cardboard, but I guess it's not for everyone.

Okay, I played. Wow, man. You really do well with black and white. Color me jealous.

The puzzles were tricky, but not too hard.

It was really nice to look at.

The cable car was great!

I do wish the motel itself had come into play more.

More score bubbles would have been nice.

No real complaints though. It was a fun romp, and we smiled a lot while we played!

Oh, my wife wishes it was longer.

I just played your level & heres my feedback:

Positives:
+Scenary looked good
+Black & White
+Gameplay was pretty good
+Puzzles were great

Negatives:
-Needs more sounds in the level seemed a bit quiet
-Could use him more detail

Sugguestion:
-You should try adding sounds to the boxes that fall & put the switch on impact and add some sort of mechanical sound on the thing you ride on..

Seem like the level was a bit rushed, I could be wrong just my opinion.
Other than that the level was pretty good::star::star::star::star:

@Sabre: Regarding it seeming rushed I make all my levels really fast and do very little planning. I usually just have a general sense of what I want to do and some ideas and things I've already built but haven't really used much. From start to finish this only took about 3 days to make. As long as the gameplay is smooth and I don't notice any real problems I'm usually satisfied and I'll just make tiny updates from time to time. I'm also tyring to keep everything very simple and basic in my recent levels as I've done lots of stuff using all the extra layers and other glitches and have gotten tired of using all that stuff.

@SalaciousCrumbcake: Thanks for the compliments on the style. It really is a very basic and simple level. Aside from the one metal material everything else I used was from the basic materials because the fog obscures everything and makes it look well together. The levels short because I used the Monster Kit background to get some ambient sounds in it but that has some weird blue crystals in the background that the fog doesn't obscure so I had to build in about half the available space.

Oh yeah yeah, I fully understand where you coming from on how you do your levels because I used to do that to before I met L1ghTmare lol. I use to build it and longs as it didnt have no problems I was satisfied and left it how it was without making any changes to it so I understnad your side on that. But I also learned that when you take your time on a level to that you can see more things to add and make the level stand out twice as more then you would have if you rushed it but hey we all got our opinions right. Still the level was great so nothing to worry about and few changes wouldnt hurt though but keep up the good work.

I really enjoyed the black and white effect in this level, the style is becoming more common but is always visually impressive even if it doesn't take too much time to create scenery with 1-2 materials. Liked the puzzles, the boxes were a good idea and helped balance out the level pretty well. I felt the transport vehicle moved a little fast, and didn't really fit the slower, calm feel of the level and music. Also, that arcade game in the motel was a little annoying because it shot out waaaayyy too many point bubbles. For just a little sub-feature like that you should only add enough points for a 2x multiplier, not 100x. But the level went smoothly overall, I think I remember a sudden change in the water level that was clearly visible, you may want to switch the camera angle so that isn't as noticeable.

Good job, I gave it :star::star::star::star: and a <3
