Magnetic Switch: extra setting

Archive: 13 posts

I think Media Molecule should make a setting on Magnetic Key Switches that changes a light's (i.e. LED, fairy light, etc.) colour. This would mean adding the same amount of colours on the magnetic key switch as there are on the light. But I think that would be a good effect.

If something like this already exists, please tell me.

Well, you could either sticker the light one colour, then when it turns of you see the colour it is stickered. Or search for the creator TINTED, and get his merging tool, so you can put lights inside of each other and use speed setting so they can change between the different lights.2010-09-08 07:35:00

I think it would be cool if we had multiple settings for mags(onnoff/direction/speed), as I find myself duplicating my switches, just to activate a sound or something.2010-09-08 10:40:00

That's happening. Sort of. The same signal goes down every wire and then it is then interpreted at the destination, remember?

For what it's worth, they are no longer called magnetic keys and magnetic key switches.

They are now tags, and tag sensors. It's way faster to type, so YAY!

That's cool. And no I don't remember. It is the first time I've read that info lols.

That makes way more sense too. yay.

Hysterical!! Makes sense... they really never were that magnetic anyway...

What I would like,
if a magneti.. uhm.. tag key is set to speed, there should be an option to chance the speed setting.
i.e. instead of getting closer to the tag switch center and making i.e. a motor spin faster..
it could have options like, speed up when more than 1 tag switch is in the radious of the tag switch with speedsettings.

I would think you could do that.. just not quite as directly as you are hoping. 2010-09-08 18:42:00

Very easy to achieve with a few of the logic tools available.

I was wondering if they were going to rename those. with impact switches responding to them as well, and having sackbots following them, it only makes sense to rename them.

Back onto what luos said, instead you could have a tag and it activates two tag sensors which activate an AND switch which is set to direction on the tag sensor which changes the direction of a delay switch with no flipper motion and set to speed and controls the output's speed.

Simples. (squeaak)

Not very thermo optimized though...

Remember you can have an "off" state as well as an "on" state for lights. So, for example, the off state would be red, the on state green. This could be graduated between by using an analogue signal.2010-11-02 21:44:00
