Sorry the pictures are so "dark". It's much easier to see in the actual level!

I have spent at least a month building this level. Unfortunately, a graphical glitch kept me from decorating the level as much as I wanted. The glitch is even visible at one point in the level, but it isn't really that big of a deal.

The level is a puzzler/platformer. While the majority of the level contains puzzles, the final areas contain platforming. It ends with a boss fight, which has an awesome death sequence that I think you'll like!

Also, expect to find some difficult areas of the level. I tried to lower the difficulty right before posting this, but it is still quite difficult. You have been warned.

Play, give feedback if you want, and enjoy!

(In case you haven't figured it out already, it's set in a cave )

EDIT: Err...who took the time to actually took the time to rate the THREAD 1 star?!? I guess I can't escape spammers here either. Scratch that thought, I'm not discouraged or anything... (although it still ****** me off that I spent so much time on a level only to have people down it, ah well)

Hello,

I try your level this morning, and I don't arrive to pass the first door.
The time is to short, and the firt time I used the platform without open the door.

Maybe first you need to open more the door, and next, make something for the platform comeback to it's initial position, because I restar 5 time to intent to pass it with unsucces.

For the rest of the level I couldn't say you anything because I only stay in the entrance....

Hey I tried you level earlier and I have to say I found it very difficult and not in a good way I spent a very long time trying to figure out what to do and eventually just gave up and quit because it wasn't clear were to go I backtracked twice and found nothing.

I would suggest perhaps making the levels slightly easier (not too much) and making it a little clearer as what's going on in the level

Ok, I'll try to see what I can do to make it easier next time I get on the ps3!

The platform was grabbable so you can bring it back to it's original position. I'll try to make this more obvious!

Ok, update time!

I have made the level slightly easier (as in, you no longer have to be perfect to get past a puzzle), I have added clues, and it should be overall be easier to know where to go next.

Hope you like it! If you see any problems, let me know!

Pros:
- Nice Puzzles and Gameplay
- Good visuals (except for a certain part)

Cons:
-The first part (rocket thing) took me quite a while to figure out what to do
-There was some pistons on show ( Eww )
- It needs 2 players for one part, but doesnt say in description)
- The fire part was to ugly and difficult

Overall:
Some nice and in-genoius puzzles a tricky level, but still nice :star::star::star::star:

Thank you for your feedback!
The whole level can be done with one player. I think I know which part you thought was 2 player only, I'll try to fix that up and make the puzzle a bit more obvious!
I was planning on making the pistons invisible, but I kept on getting distracted and doing something else, so I never got around to it. I'll make them invisible once I get back on the ps3!

Alright, I made the pistons invisible and I tried my best to make the platforming sections easier!

Enjoy!

I played your level crazymario It was pretty fun. Here's what I thought.

-I enjoyed most pretty much all the puzzles, they weren't too hard, but still were cool to solve.

-The Boss was pretty hard, if it weren't for the infinite check point I would have got a game over easily. I did manage to find a safe place far right after awhile though. I do kinda wish you explained what the boss was or why he was even there.

-The fire part was kinda hard, cause I couldn't quite tell which things that were falling could hurt me, and which things were just for show.

-I liked that part before the boss that fools the player, I won't spoil it for others, but you got me pretty good.

-I guess one thing I didn't like was that it could have looked better, but maybe because after playing Sky Factory 2. Everything just looks inferior. I also saw that you couldn't add decorations because of some graphical glitch. That sucks.

-So all in all it was a fun level. :star::star::star::star:

If you can try my level called "Game Over: Lake of Lost Souls Remade (First Cavern)"

That would be great.

Hey, I played your level the other day and I thought it was alot of fun. The opening part was confusing at first, but once I figured it out, it was really cool. I think the lighting was a little too dark at points, I had to sit directly in front of the TV to see certain parts. I liked the puzzles alot especially the one with the paintgun and jetpack (Although I did figure out a way to skip the jetpack). The section with the blocks being emitted was really tough mainly because of the dark colored material and low lighting. One way you could make it a little easier (If you want to) would be attaching a key to the blocks and make a light flicker everytime a new one appears on the screen. I really liked the intense platforming section with all the fireballs, that was alot of fun. I too was fooled by the same part as MetaHybrid. The boss fight was tough, maybe a small cover spot somewhere would help, you could even just cut away from the wall behind it to create a safe spot or two. Altogether, I thought it was a fun and challenging level. If you get a chance, you should try my level, The Gunsmithe's Workshop, I haven't gotten any feedback on it yet. Oh yeah, I gave your level 5 stars but I played on my uncle's profile so I haven't hearted it yet, I will once I get back on my ps3.2010-09-10 19:57:00

A) Thanks for the head's up, I'll try to block that safe spot!
As for why the boss was there, I was originally going to have a storyline but the level ended up not having the type of atmosphere I wanted. Maybe if I ever make a sequel, I'll incorporate that character into some sort of storyline. The teaser at the end was a "just in case" sort of thing

B) I agree. I plan on doing a bit of an overhaul with this section over the weekend.

I never noticed anything wrong with this section, thanks for pointing this out! I'll see what I can do!

I couldn't get past the rocket device. I grabbed on and just went straight, I dragged it back and tried to grab it on an angle and I still just went straight. I tried dragging it into the spike pit, but I still didn't get anywhere. I realized I must have to use the momentum to launch myself over the wall. I could barely get it to go in the air and when I did I certainly couldn't get myself to fly up at the right angle. So yeah. :2010-09-11 18:37:00

The "wall" was supposed to be a door - you're not supposed to fly OVER it.

I'll put that on my list of things to fix, thanks!

EDIT: I updated the level with a few fixes!

Sorry for taking so long to get back to your F4F, but I've been a little busy lately. Here we go!

Story/Dialog

+ Good use of "paper on the floor" left by previous, unlucky spelunkers to give instructions

Gameplay

+ A plethora of great puzzles
+ Uses backtracking well, cleverly avoiding repetitiveness
+ The checkpoint at the boss fight was a godsend, enabling players to pop out on their own when they deemed it safe, instead of tossing you in at any random point in time
- One of the launching platforms went too quickly and went through me, resulting in me falling into the spikes below
- If you get off the button on the elevator, it goes back up, which is fine, but if you get back on the button while the elevator is rising it starts spazzing out. You need to wait until it gets to the top to make it work again.

Design and Aesthetics

+ Excellent use of lights to highlight objective-critical objects
? Some of the puzzles are challenging (in some cases, perhaps a bit too challenging)
- Bats could use some more animation, wing movement

Final Thoughts
This was a pretty good level! The only issues I had with it were that lighting could've been done better. The whole cave seemed to have it's own ambient light source that lit up the place. It would've set the mood really well if you turned down the global light setting and used more light objects.

Final Score: :star::star::star::star:

Keep it up!
